i dunno 60k for a 99 CRF450, yeh i dont think so.
Its more so sentimental value than cash value.

Their labor must be fucking expensive if that bike totals 60k because theres no way its in parts.

depends a factory ride AMA supercross bike can cost from $60-150,000us but that would be current model not a 11 year old bike.
I reckon even with the "bling" you would be very lucky to see $9-10k for that.

AFAIA there was no CRF450 in 99, 1999 was when the dude won his comp or whatever...
I can see a brand new CRF blinged to the shithouse maybe coming to 40k inc bike, not sure about 60k tho.. depends on what a fully built off its tits crf motor + all the other goodies would be worth.. not cheap im guessing

I dont know bike models by looking at them, how do you know its a 99? the only reference I can see is it says he was the 99 champion.Bare in mind I am half blind.

"stolen from Extreme Motorbikes in Forrestfield" Possible insurance job? Extreme Motorbikes had (or may still have) a reputation of being dodgy, few of my mates been burnt buying from them.

60k ... lol.

Has what looks like SMPro rims, it has stock housing showa shock, same with forks .... OEM swingarm. Its a riced up CRF, no where near 60k.

Im sorry his bike went missing, ive had two built racebikes go missing, and it hurts.

There must have been 20 police down here, they were here within eight or nine minutes of my call, and the forensic came within no time,” he said.

I can't help but feel that if a modified $60,000 2nd hand car went missing there would not be 20 cops and a forensic team there in under 10 minutes.

my mate had been broken into and the cops took something like the next day to come..had to leave everything as it was too, not to disturb evidence. including smashed window etc

yeh i may of been wrong there with the dates after miss reading, i just assumed the bike was his championship winning bike from 1999 and as such the bike was a 99 model being that the CRF hasnt changed drastically in looks since then.

If its not the bike he won the championship on then i fail to see any reason to mention that in the artical.

Chad Reed races all over the world something like 32 weeks out of the year and has some huge sponsors and is at the highest level of the sport. $65k for his forks seems feasable at that level but a $60k bike for a 32yo bloke who won the amateur state championship 11 years ago i doubt it.

Forks used in works bikes, better said works forks by Showa and Kayaba, sont actually come up for sale. They dont even belong to the teams, they are supplied to the bikes, the mechanics, dial them in, but all building and valving there between is done by the techs themselves.

I tried getting some HRC works parts quite a few years ago thru my contacts at Honda, and they wouldnt even onsell, they crush what they finish with.
