I'm a big fan of VLT's and this is hot! I think it would look even better with standard polished Calais rims, but that might be a bit to leb spec for some.

Awesome car :)

Was this the one for sale a couple of years ago at MV (possibly 08?). It was in the elite tent I think...

Not a huge fan of the wheels but definitely one of the most tastefully modified VL's I've seen.

I think you may be thinking of [BO 04 WA] I think it is. Walky kitted one with big snail and Vault Krystals.

love the VL Calais, Looks tops! imo needs HSV wheels or polished Calais wheels rolling on slicks :D

kalais6
22-01-2010, 08:59 AM
wow cheers for all the positive feedback - as for the wheels, each to their own. Their old as the hills but I still kinda like em - struggling to find something I like more which has been the biggest problem.

I'm hoping to turn the tyres in anger for the first time with her this year.

This better not have been parked at Caro lol - she aint running. And no it wasnt the one for sale at MV - that was the Delft blue fake Calais with 19's (pfft) and the plates BIGBOYSTOY.

stumps.
22-01-2010, 09:36 AM
hey mate im not usually a fan of VL's either but WOW. Fuckin awesome car man. A credit to your efforts.

Na that was a different one Don. I see a P plater driving it around, he goes to work up Orrong everyday. Looks similar but it's NA, well it was last I saw.

kalais6
22-01-2010, 05:10 PM
haha yeah the dude that owns that other one hit me up on Facebook with "hey man why u got pics of my car" - I explained it to him with my usual subtle flair that our cars are quite different and how he could tell them apart - dont think he appreciated that quite as much as I did.

Trust me, my car aint a factory Holden colour, his is - his rims are 19's - and mine is a genuine Calais Turbo. Pretty sure ur mates is just a Calais mock up too coz when I last saw it, it didnt have elec windows etc - I've had a chat with the original owner of that car ur mate now has.

Admittedly they are similar - which pisses me off - but vs-clubby678 is right, it did have the Group A front bar and a shocker of a rear spoiler on it too

22-01-2010, 06:39 PM

Absolutely lovely paint job, props to the photog as well, good angles in there. Congrats on a tidy tidy ride! I'd vote for rim change but I know what you mean about finding something better - most aftermarket jobbies make me cringe.

Real head turner for sure at any rate! Enjoy it.

Few more things to do then I'm gonna start looking at the trim - just had a brief chat with Charisma Motor Trimmers and I've been impressed so far so we'll see what happens.
