Well seeing as im going to be stuck with my car for a fair few more years and having a work car and 4x4 i'd like to do something with me other car the lancer.
I really like the cars looks and handling/feel of the interior, but it lacks just a tad of power :(
This kit has been out for ages and is also from america

Opinions? cheaper to get done over here?
Car is a 2008 Mitsi Lancer CJ 2008 (4B11)

You need to remember that these things are rarely as straight-forward as they'd have you believe. Will everything still fit right given that the US car is left hand drive? It's common to have things like the break booster, fuebox, steering column etc. interfere with positioning of parts. Are you going to sacrifice reliability and driveability of your daily by adding the kit? Are you going to suffer gearbox, clutch, driveshaft problems as a result of the added power?
I'd hit up some Lancer forums and see what the go is with the kit and whether people have run into any problems with them in the past.
What exactly is going to keep you "stuck with your car for a fair few more years" as you put it?

When i were 18 i got myself a WRX and bailed out of my loan early, now am stuck with a large chunk of that loan..
I have emailed the company asking about the compatability of my car VS US cars as you added.
And i barely drive the car so if something does break i can have it off the road, LOTS of parts from US avaliable for them so yeh.
I had a look on lancer forums but it seems to be full of f***ers with no information :(

yeah, i found out the hard way that stuff on the firewall can ruin stuff that would work in the US.
What sort of power is it estimated to put out?
What's the strength of the gearbox's?
you'll want to use a good ECU. modern n/a motors usually dont like being turbo charged too much, so a good tune will be key.

It comes with a small ECU/Timing box.
Ive given the gearbox a good thrash and seems to have held up well, even at the plex after 30 or 40 runs (all up) over a couple of weeks lol.

more so want to look at the torque it can take, fwd's tend to have pissy gearsets that are overloaded by turbo power. Mitsi's have been good in the past though...
ECU wise, your better off getting it without the tuning box (or selling that to someone else), and runnin a proper ECU.
Chances are the n/a motor has light duty pistons and rods, and any detonation is going to toast the motor. How much would a replacement engine go for?...
Option B
pay off loan quicker.
Buy Evo.

Yeah thats true blake would deffinatly change the ECU choice.
Nemi dont wanna run AWD again got real boring real quick.
And im not that good with RWD ill prolly kill myself
wrx awd and evo awd is not same same.
Evo with the right alignment geometry is a hell of a lot of fun, oh and heli's.

I think save your money on the turbo kit and buy something else to mod, something thats not going be a headfuck to fix when shit goes wrong.

If you'd kill youself with RWD its probably not wise to go forced induction ;)

I wouldnt do it you never get anything done for the price you originally thought when doing modifications that arnt common i would save up and buy a evo
So about 5k for kit
shipping couple hundred
fitting etc tune etc another 2k
if you want something non slow and shit, go and find a 32 gtst, cc gsr, rs liberty etc for cheap to thrash around in

5k is a fukload of money to bolt a turbo onto a motor and driveline that will have 99.8% failure, not to mention unusable power been FWD. i dunno sounds like a fuknload waste of money, better off spending that 5K+ putting it back on your loan so its gone faster. Also id hate to think wat it costs to rebiuld either a gearbox or motor in that lancer. if you want something to thrash..7k can buy a S13/180sx with enough mods to have bulk fun in.

if awd is boring the wrong wheel drive is just frustrating, there is no fun in fwd with power unless it has a decent diff, even then it has its limits
sell now before it depricates more and buy something you want...

its torque that makes a fwd undrivable, unfortunately unless your prepared to have a motor that rev's really high to make decent power, there is definitely a point where the power isnt usable anymore.
