Need Help: Yamaha Raptor 660 (YFM660)

A friend has one im thinking of buying. Can someone give me some advice of what these are like since i never owned a quad thats 660cc.

I had a 2001 model and a 2003 model
Dont get a 2001 model the gearboxes are made of glass
Also check the frame for cracks around the footpeg/rear swingarm area as they are known for cracking frames.
Probably wouldnt pay more than 5k for one after that get a 700
To tell just count to the tenth number on the vin number 1=2001,2=2002 and so on
If you get it and you need a rear plastic/fender for it send me a PM i have one in not too bad condition.
Can be a bit tippy but if you just want to ride in the bush they arent bad.

You can almost get a Raptor 700 for 5k, definitely worth spending the extra to get one of those over a Raptor 660.

^^ agree. buy mine :D completely different bike to ride than the 660's. they feel like a fucking ag bike compared to mine
