Just my bf turbo..
Few things done to it.
Tuned by bpt has 342.6 rwkw
and best et is 11.8 with a 2.0 60'f

Its looks Stock under the hood, and still has stock exhaust with a highflow cat.

Just done a stealth stereo with a tidy boot install...

Its just got the modifications to the engine and support mods. as such intercooler, fuel pump, injectors, highflow cat, bigger wastgate, and arround 18psi boost...
With a stereo mostly pioneer (JB had a sale lol) and got the wheels for it also better break pads and the like of having a money pit...

Nope, I brought this from lynford's arround august last year.

Yes. its alot but its needed to run the power. As for things breaking its a bf mk11 so im lucky in one respect as it has the typhoon motor with stronger bottom end.

Im loading one now...

Nice car, nice result. The ZF handles the power nicely doesn't it.

Are you still running the stock intake manifold and airbox? My BF F6 ran 11.82 @ 122mph on street tyres (not ET streets or shit like that). Did nice 3rd and 4th gear rolling burnouts too :)

Turbo2.6L

My exhaust is for sale in the 'FOR SALE' section.
Also, be careful running such high boost through that Monza cooler. With all the pipework your running (factory setup i assume?), you'll be working that turbo extremely hard. 18psi at the manifold will be more like 25psi at the turbs!
Detonation is something you should be listening for as those coolers aren't very efficient & i'd hate to see it go bang.

how much does a stage 1 (so to speak) cost and what does is it consist of? And after completion good for about 300rwkw?

15-01-2010, 09:35 PM
Do you meen the Nizpro stage 1?? If so link below
http://www.nizpro.com.au/xr6t_f6_packages.html
Around 320rwkw at the engine or 250-270rwkw depending on car/transmision.

The Process West stage 1 cooler is good value for money and is about a grand from memory. Throw in some injectors (i used the Nizpro ones, but there are cheaper ones around for about 500ish), a high flow cat and dump (SMB a 1000) with the rest of the system stock, F6 cai, capa flash tune and i went to Xtreme Ford Tuning for Simon to work his magic and ended up running a 11.8 on factory tyres. 326 RWKW's. No dramas, better fuel economy and a big increase from factory power.

how much does a stage 1 (so to speak) cost and what does is it consist of? And after completion good for about 300rwkw?

Siemens 60lb Deka injectors - $600
Fuel pump - $250
Front mount intercooler $800 - $1000 (for a quality ASE or similar direct bolt in unit)
100CPSI cat - $300
Tune - $400-$600 (Sniper Tune)
F6 CAI - $150
valve springs (pre BF Falcon) $1000 inc labour

Allow around $500-$700 to fit up parts.

This combo should see anywhere between 330-350rwkw @ 15-17psi boost on a manual or ZF auto XR6T.

Getting to 260-270rwkw is easy, it only requires a tune.

The next level requires the mods I've listed, but will see a well setup combo see around 350rwkw, without the need for a Nizpro kit (with their hand drilled injectors  ), or 5" drain pipe dump pipe. The factory dump pipe is capable of supporting over 400rwkw as proven by several BF F6's running mid 10's. But hey, the option to line someone elses pocket in exchange for fancy exhaust systems and intake systems is there too.

Torquen
16-01-2010, 11:47 AM
OEM Dump pipe can hold 400rwkw and a 10sec pass but it has also been proven that a larger aftermarket dump pipe (SMB or otherwise) gives decent power gains. Its not a must do mod but it is still worth doing.

For the manual - a BA mk 2 or BF with a T56 will require a good clutch upgrade for much past 280 rwkw... I know that some clutches have lasted past, but its really just a matter of time for how long.

For a BA with a T5, your probably gonna need to upgrade your gearbox and clutch... Again, the T5's can last with good servicing, but its a bit of a lottery...

I'd hazard a guess and say the high boost level to make that power is due to the stock exhaust..

Go the aftermarket system with dump pipe and you'll work the turbo less!

Yes, you're right. Forget the 5 speed manuals, they tend to let go over 280rwkw. The 6 speed manuals will need a clutch upgrade for anything than a tune-only.

No, not really. The factory dump pipe in conjunction with a 3.5" cat and a 3.5" exhaust system (like the APS exhaust system) is a proven combo supporting over 400rwkw and will power an auto BF to run a mid 10. Running U98 on 18-20psi with an APS Phase 3 kit will make around 400rwkw.

Fuck the aftermarket dump pipes, they're wank factor. The power comes from changing cats and cat back system. Been there, done that, long before these 'greenhorns' discovered XR6t's.

I had a full Nizpro stage II kit & can honestly say that i wasn't impressed. Same results can be had for half the cost & the finish of Nizpro gear is China Quality at best :(

Bzzzzt!
Aftermarket dumps (read: some, not all) improve flow charecteristics & aid in helping the turbo to spool quicker. I seen it when jumping from standard to SMB 4" dump, then SMB 4" to Manta 4" on my F6. I had 11psi @ ~2300rpm according to BPT dyno with Manta system (which isn't worth a pinch of salt imo as that dyno is all over the show), but when compared to the 11psi @ 2800ish with SMB system i previously had with no tune changes, it speaks for itself.
These cars can make great power with fuck all mods, but they make it safer & are more reliable when done properly. Decent quality 4" dump is a must in my book if you want to maximise down low performance & keep everything happy.

No i wasn't hinting at Rob from Monsta Torque at all Dean.
What he has done with your car speaks for it self and welldone to him, you and the other cars he tunes......

It was based on different things that i've heard about companies in the Wangara, Malaga areas. But hey, for every bad story you hear from a customer, no doubt there is a good story to hear aswell.

I recommend Simon from XFT as he has only done good things for me and my car, has a great track record and has backed up his work.

Don't care one way or another what Simon, BPT, APC or Backyard Bob does with any other cars... I take note of how my car & other's from Monsta Torque perform.
You're right, results do speak for themselves!
