View Full Version : replacing door rubbers

So I am finally getting along to putting my car back together....

Started replacing the door rubbers, they fit nicely into a groove around the door itself, however, they don't appear to be held in by pressure (ie: rubber pulling into itself). Rather, they sit snugly in their channel, but as soon as I let them go they come off the door.

I'm guessing a contact adhesive is what is needed?

Anyone have any experience with this? Preferred products to use?

Did you turn it over and try it other ways?
Never seen door seals need any other product to sit in, they should hold themselves in with pressure...sometimes they can be tricky, working out which line to put it in.

Just slightly off-topic, but does anyone know where you can buy replacement door seals or at least have a replacement or two made up to suit?

need to give info about what model cars when asking questions, then it would give other people the chance to help u. if they had experience with that make and model, even brand
