As far as I know. A shift kit in an auto lets it change gears quicker then standard. By the sounds of it you got a nice car there. Get some pics up :)

Basically a shift kit increases hydraulic pressures which reduces slippage which increases harshness but makes for quicker gear changes.
LS series engines dont get chipped but simply have the software rewritten with the tune being more performance based than the factory tune.
As for more power these cars love forced induction :D if you dont want to take that path a nice cam will bump the numbers up and give that lumpy anger idle.

If it has got a true 376rwhp I'd hazard a guess that it already has a cam in it.
Unless it was tuned in Bibra Lake:lol:

I dunno. Ive driven 400rwhp cars and they r insane. This goes hard but makes me doubt 376 maybe low 300's yeah but 376 not 2 sure will have it dynoed and see.

That will make it move.... my old ute made 553on 12psi with mild cam. 4th gear roll ons easy, not enought to lift the wheels though.... as ricey said the LS motors love boost

I was thinking of puttin a blower on. The reason i have doubts that car makes 376rwhp is because it was owned by a man in his early 50's. And before anyone says sooooooo i know 50yr old have lead foots 2 but this guy looked after it well i only bought this one coz of its condition. It has service history every 5000k's and he just wanted abit more out of the ute so he had shift kit and tune done now as for figures ive seen ppl get given dyno sheet with one figure but its somethin different thats why i wanna check. Ute has very few scratches and motor is clean comparing to other 05 models ive seen.

I love these things, I drive my brothers VZ SS ute around, apart from exhaust its pretty standard, but sounds mint and is good fun, I love busting around in it, would be bombed with some more power, I'd choose it over a Japper if it did, simply for a change.

It's not all
about horsepower either, the Ls series motors make bulk loads of torque :D
change diff gears and if you drive it around a fair bit go for turbo or charger,
you will keep your driveability then :)

376hp at the fly??
who measures at the flywheel.. i doubt the engine has been out and tuned on a dyno in this..
It sounds like it has a cam in it mate with that power.. these usually pull 275hp ish standard. The shift kit will make it change harder too.. you probably already noticed that though!
These really do love a nice procharger on the side or a set of turbos down by the gearbox... but a lumpy as cam and diff gears will get it honking!

Saw it when I picked up his xbox, I'd say its a stocker. Wasn't lumpy, stock airbox and maf. Someone might of been pulling his leg during the sale, but either way he got it cheap for what it is, and it's a great base for a car. Good luck with it.
