Just a quick one...
I have the latest version of Itunes and i can't figure out how to 'consolidate' my music library?? The old versions all had a button under 'Edit' or 'Controls' which you just clicked and it moved all your music together.
Anyone know if you can still do this, or have they removed this option from Itunes??
Cheers, Jesse.

Nah Wally, the problems not adding music to itunes, All my music is in itunes but the master folder (eg. the one the actual file is in) are all over the place and i want to copy all the music to my external hard drive but i can't cause the music everywhere not in on file. Consolidating it used to put a copy of each file music file into one big folder making it easy to copy onto an external hard drive.

I have an iTunes question as well. I'll just tak it on instead of starting another thread.

Some of the albums I have in my iTunes library have correct id3 tags as far as I can see, but when I sort by artist, instead of appearing in list for that artist, they appear in a list called compilations? How do I make them appear in the list for that artist?

I'll take a screenshot later tonight to show what I mean if I haven't explained it very well (I don't think I have).

Cheers
Damon

Another iTune's question.
I sometime's download youtube video's via www.listentoyoutube.com
but when they are added to itune's they don't actually play. The odd time they do play...but don't put out any sound.
Anyone know what i can do to make them work?

YouTube videos are normally in .flv format aren't they? Would they not need to be converted once downloaded to .avi or .mpeg?

They will need to be converted to .mp4 (or something else quick time friendly).

I use Videora to convert .avi files to .mpeg for my iPhone. It isn't an overly quick program, but it's free and works. You can queue things up, so I just set them to convert overnight.

It's not the video i get from that site, it's the audio.

I found the answer to my question as well.

It's in the info for each track, untick compilation check box, but you have to do 1 track at a time. :(

I'm pretty sure there is an option to sort by compliation check box in options...

PREFERENCES > ADVANCED > 3RD CHECK BOX FROM BOTTOM:Uncheck "Group Compilations While Browsing"
