wanting to no how dual voice coil subs should be wired up. amp im running is capable of 400w rms at 2ohm so wanting to get the most from the amp. any help would be appreciated.
need to know what the impedance of each voice coil on the sub
if it's a 4ohm+4ohm then run the positive from the amp and split into both positives on the sub and the negative on the amp to both negative terminals on the sub
if it's a 1ohm+1ohm sub then run the positive of the amp to one positive on the sub. on the same terminal set link the negative to the positive of the other terminal set. on that set there will be one negative terminal left, run it back to the negative on the amp.
if your subs a 2+2 ohm then you bought the wrong sub/amp combo, you can risk blowing the amp by wiring it up as per the first set of instructions or be safe but not push all the power by running it as per the second set of instructions.
