So I'm looking to get something for my sister's boyfriend for Christmas. He does quite abit of reading. I'm chasing a specific book, which has been discussed on this forum. I just can't for the life of me remember it. It's basically stories by an American dude of disgusting shit he's done in his life. Mainly to girls in college, etc, etc. Those who know the book, will know exactly who/what I'm talking about... Even just the guys name will do. Google will do the rest. I actually think theres several books out now.

Also open to other book suggestion along these lines. Got him the 'Bro Code' from the TV show How I Met Your Mother and he loved it. So any suggestions along these type of lines would be great. Comedy type stuff. Wish there was a book full of bloodninja's chat records :(

I realise this sounds vague, but as I said, anyone who knows the guy/book will know exaclty what I'm talking about.

A book that is always good for a laugh, and is could be quite offensive to some is Rogers Profanisaurus Rex. Its basically a dictionary of slang and expressions.

One of my favourites:

Cvnt Corks n

A term used in chemist's shops when one is too embarrassed to ask for a box of women's things

Fuck 2 days is a fair effort for WFR! Its no light Read!

I quite like the Eddings series, (Belagriad and Mallorean), haha, read them too many times...

Yeah this guy is one of those skim reading cheats lol. I bought all 12 books from ebay cheap... he was finished with them when i got just over half way. I just gave him the box and kept a few to catchup lol

"Belligerence and Debauchery: The Tucker Max Stories" is one of the other Tucker Max ones.

I also suggest "The Alphabet of Manliness" written by Maddox.

And if he like "The Bro Code" then he'll like "Bro on the Go" too.

I thought angles and demons was better than DaVinci. The movie was pretty average though.

i posted them in order

farseer trilogy first;
"assassins apprentice"
followed by;
"royal assassin" and then
"assassins quest"

proly best to get all 3 at once if you can - once you get into it, you wont want to stop reading the storey

if it is just for yourself, you can usually pick them up on ebay for about $28 for the set of 3 (used of course)

Nobodies mentioning the Brent Weeks 'Night Angel' Trilogy!??!

Best fantasy series I have ever read, but I rate the Farseer Trilogy highly as well.

If you after Sci-Fi, can't go past Altered Carbon and the following novels. They are written by Richard K. Morgan.

i agree on the terry goodkind series with mys1 except i persevered a bit longer, kinda cracked the shits that every second book seemed to have nothing to do with the main story line, just went off on his own direction, main story was great but kinda gave me the shits and i gave up
btw there's a tv series based on this as i discovered yesterday, got the first 4 episodes but havn't watched yet, quick view makes it look kinda xena warrior princess spec though, rather than hbo spec like rome, so my hopes aren't high

as for good series, wheel of time is awesome, get the george rr martin series, will be unlike anything you've ever read, and raymond feist is my all time favorite, i smash his books literally in days whereas most others i read when i can be bothered lol

Do yourself a favour and dont watch the tv series... its utter shit. its Hercules/XENA spec (Sam Rami directed)... ruins the book - which was bordering MA 15+ at the end of the series.

Raymond E Feist is good too
Read all his books heaps of times, same with Eddings Books, both good writers.

Alphabet of manliness was hilarious as I hope they serve beer in hell.

An awesome book which is just about to hit screens is Shutter Island, I hope Scorsese doesnt fuck it.

The Hellbound Heart by Clive Barker was a great quick read, they made Hellraiser from it.

Oh and Matthew reilly writes some good stuff.

For a good laugh get Robert G barret's Les Norton series, funny stuff :)

Maybe a bit off-track but have you considered graphic novels?There are some good ones out there... the Alan Moore stuff, the Frank Miller stuff etc. Id highly recommend any of the Punisher Max run by Garth Ennis, pretty dark and full-on for a comic. I'm just getting into his series 'The Boys' which is pretty awesome as well.
