Yeah I know there's another thread for all the AL entrants but for those of us not going with AL - who's in who's out and what's your plans for setup etc?

We got 21 cars in for the event, and a few surprise knock backs. With any luck we'll be setting up over 2 avenues (back to back). Won't have anything crazy like the supra stand but will have the usual marquee's pool(s) and probably a decent DJ tent also - just depends who is free to get on the decks.

Seems MV bumped back a fair few of the blown LSx cars again, not sure why. My mates was one of them which is a shame, but that's the only WAK car that got denied. Couple years in a row now it's been given the flick. :(

This year one of the guys on this forum who we will leave anonymous was driving around with a Blue flashing light on the roof and the siren was coming from a mega phone and our camp was asked 21 questions who was doing it. Wasnt pulling anyone over and the car clearly wasnt a holden or ford

We've done the siren from mega phone thing, no flashing light though. They tried to ping me for hoon laws - I got away with it because the grounds are private property until the gates open to the public.

All for a little skid down 5th ave..

Haven't seen anyone walking around with a breath tester yet but have heard about it. Not sure if the cops will take over that and charge you or if you'll be asked to park it up for a few hours.

Yes ok some cars got in stock, but just because the organisers fucked up and let a few stockers through, doesn't mean everyone with a stock-ish car should get in.


Every year people who don't get in complain about how shit the organisers are, but to be honest I think they do a pretty fucking good job.

They end up with 800+ cars there, and there are usually only a couple example of sub-par stockers.

That means 99% of the cars they pick should be in there.

Everyone is asigned a number when they enter - ie before they decide who is in and out. So there's probably over 1000 entries, but number #450, for example, might get declined. They don't number your 1-800 once they've accepted you

i think they should cut down on numbers, fuck off the top show area (its to far to walk and most of the cars up there ain't worth the walk anyway) get rid of the stockish street cars and lift the level up a bit. Yeah I know there's another thread for all the AL entrants but for those of us not going with AL - who's in who's out and what's your plans for setup etc?

We got 21 cars in for the event, and a few surprise knock backs. With any luck we'll be setting up over 2 avenues (back to back). Won't have anything crazy like the supra stand but will have the usual marquee's pool(s) and probably a decent DJ tent also - just depends who is free to get on the decks.

That's pretty much on the money. Kiddy proof fence (latch etc) or a lifesaver on duty. I don't think having swum all your levels in highschool counts either.

Though this year Tom just "borrowed" some orange safety mesh fence shit from work and we wrapped that around 3-4 stakes and to get in you just had to jump it or get on a couch and jump in the pool.. They wouldn't fill our pool up as it wasn't safe enough so we went home, got a hose, and filled it up ourselves. Then they stole our hose. Pretty sure we just got another one and kept on filling.

Usually they'll charge around $15 to get the water truck to fill your pool/spa/other. If you can get it full before they realise there's no hope in hell they will ask you to tip it out. Our pool was over 3m wide so it was holding a shitload of water. Oh, they also confiscate your hoses for watering down the roads to get people to do burnouts LOL. They set up orange cones etc to steer the cars away from the trickle of water that had gathered on the road. Buttt as Brockas said, no more avenue skiddies next yr.

They are making it clear you need to have the complete package to make it in, you cant have a stock shitter with a turbo slapped on and expect to get in (not aimed at you mike) rather you need to have nice paint, wheels, sus, AND a decent donk. things like custom work and 1 offs always work in your favour.

Think of it this way, they want the spectators (that dont know your car from a bar of soap) to see it from a distance and be attracted to it and upon closer inspection find it has the go to match the show... whos gonna walk up to a stock shitbox import with 17's even if it has a big turbo on it?

Whilst I agree wholeheartedly, these cars are let in because there are whole lot of 14-17/18 year olds who come to Motorvation every year to wank over these V6 shitters with big wheels and dream of the sick $3k mods they'll do to their first VT acclaim. These cars assist in sales at the gate, and they provide some variety so they're let in. They bore me :zzz: but serve a purpose regardless.

I agree with a lot of what people have posted but look at it this way .... powercruise is full of shitters from all makes lapping around doing skids where there not ment to be and really I think personally powercrusie is pretty shitty in that respect they try get as many people out there on the track or at the event, I think what Motorvation are trying to do is keep the shitty cars out and keep it a bit exclusive, albeit there have beeen a few cars that have not made it and by now means are shitters... this is where I agree there are uneducated people making decisions, I like the fact that there is all types of vehicles in but as always not enough imports, this state is pretty big on imports and should reflect at MV10

I'm suprised also, I think because you guys entered as a club they accepted several BMW's to fill your display. My brothers 5 series v8 late 90's with heaps of fruit was not accepted entering with our display with imports and v8's, I'd suspect because it would look odd and out of place, however if he entered with you guys I'm pretty confident it would have been fine.

I did single entries last 2 years and was in the same spot... bottom left of the shaded area brockas added above.

As someone plsted above when you see people lining up it is easier to get out to supercruise from there too...
