Guitar Hero 3 & 5

Went and bought Guitar Hero 3 and 5 today, spent decent coin. Got home synced them, but one guitar came up with light 3 and 4 and the other one came up with light 2 and 4, I was a bit WTF but continued.

Now both guitars works at the playstation menu, but as soon as I go in game. Neither work yet I can still go back to menu and use it there.

Help anyone?
