big single is good but it depends what you want to do with it, if you want something responsive then buy a pair of n1 turbos which are good for 300+ horse power but if you want a street car which is responsive and makes good power go a t04z like 5+ said

Garrett -5s are the best choice, or maybe GTSS/-9s for a little less overall power, with a little more response.
Both are straight bolt on to stock manifolds (you don't need new dumps on 34Rs either), both have proven results which are all over SAU...
Go look for bakes' R34 GTR for a good example of -5s on a fresh GTR.

You will have a trade-off between power and response, obviously the more response you want the less top end power you will have. These are my suggestions. I am on my 3rd RB26 turbo setup.
All horsepower @ the wheels on a roller dyno, and achievable with a built motor running plenty of boost. If you have a stocker, you wont make these figures...
400hp - N1's
440hp - 2860 -7's, or GT-SS
480hp - GT30 single
520hp - GT35 single or 2860 -5's (the single being my preference)
570hp+ - T04Z
If you want to keep the standard motor, and just use your car on the street, 2860 -7's.

GT35 did 557hp at the hubs, and 510hp at the wheels.
T04Z gets tuned (hopefully) tomorrow, so will let you know on results then.

or an oil cooler.
480hp - GT30 single
Very keen to see this dyno figure have always been curious as to what the curve would look like.

Tristans RB25 with GT30 wasn't far off that mark.
I think 480hp may have been a bit optimistic on my behalf, probably more like 450-460, but either way the torque would be awesome.

Nert.
Unless you're doing bulk headwork at the same time, both of those setups will be LAZY and end up making less power than a T04Z.
Look at Gav's setup. Big $$$, twin GT-RS, made near on 600hp and was lazy. He is now making almost as much power (560ish) with the 2860 -5s and he loves them.
Compared to Simons setup with the single T04Z, made 630hp, and was on at a little over 4k.
chris what are you after? People could name turbos all day as every turbo is good for a certain app but untill you decide what u want this is kind of swing and miss.. just my 2cents

realisticly with a 2002 vspec 2 with 14psi a computer injectors fuel pump and exhaust you will get plenty of power.

if you are gonna go all out on the 26, go for a T04Z with a .63 rear housing. my mate has all supporting mods and makes 511 at wheels but thats in a 33 with a 26. very very responsive but hits limiter way to quick

Singles are always the way to go. Half the heat, intakes, dumps, lines ... singles are the way to go, and with ECU/N20 combinations you can gain back anything you arent happy about loosing down low.
