The airbag. The whole thing that is in the centre of the steering wheel.

Just send it by truck. I would send it and write steering wheel as the description.

Don't send it airfreight. You'll be in the shit if you send it without declaring it an explosive device. It's a federal offence.

Most packages have a non dangerous goods declaration you have to sign so you could be opening youself up to a large fine if caught...

Have been sent a wheel w/ airbag before from the Eastern States via road freight as it was the only option.
The air bags are not that volatile (they need an electronic charge or spark to be let off) - but they are not permitted on planes as precaution.

I think the best thing to do is give them a call tomorrow. Cheers for that guys.

Auspost isn't your only choice, You could also send it by Toll or TNT.

we are not aloud to send
shocks
pre tentioners
air bags
bonnet struts
these can explode as they are gas filled.

Its only a problem for sending via air (express and some local mail), just tell the person at the post office what it is and they'll sort it out to go via truck (takes up to a week longer)

All that stuff CAN be sent, but not via air, must be by truck which as said before, takes longer... you must declare the goods when sending.
