hey guys

in the process of upgrading the brakes on my 33
as r34gtr brembos are hard to come by i would like to use the sti brembos on my car
so i know the rears of the sti fits up onto the rear of a r33 but what rotors do you use to make it all function and what brake lines do you use

the fronts i know doesnt fit so i will have to make some dog legs only issue is what is a good size rotor to use for the fronts i am running 17inch by 9 inch drifttek wheels all round +30s

cheers guys i hope there is alot of info on this

cheers
andrew

might be worth having a word with bart he might be able to help with dog bones, You should be able to get a 330mm rotor under a 17" You'd want to test this though.

STi/EVO calipers are bigger than skyline brembos so deffinatatly a win with caliper sizes :)

use the standard sti size rotors, if you can find the size in nissan pcd your set or you will have to drill the sti sized rotors

Evo brakes have been done, guy on SAU has an adaptor he designed to suit.
Sti brembos are to much hassle, ask IMLATE

what costs are you looking at?
for the GTR brembos and the STI ones?

ever thought about FPV ones?
same offset and PCD as nissan
can get them in 6 (and 4) pot fronts, and 4 pot rears.
fronts are 355mm rotors, rears are 330mm rotors

for the rears mate, use the 33 GTR rotors and the factory lines

You can generally pick up a set of front OR rear STI Brembo calipers for under a $1000, sometimes bit more with rotors, pads etc.
If you still haven't sourced any rears, check out jap wholesale or Perth WRX.com etc. Usually something going on there.

I used to sell new STI Brembos for well under $1k per piece
From memory they were about 550 each... but it was a few years ago now
Genuine price blows

I have some rears somewhere but that doesn't help I guess

With brackets to suit Subaru, or just the calipers?

dattoman
21-11-2009, 12:10 PM
They don't have brackets Jo
They just bolt straight up
The calipers are lug mount not radials

And up higher in the thread I think someone said you just use 33/34 GTR rear discs...

lysdexia
21-11-2009, 12:25 PM
just to clarify, 33GTR and STI brembo REAR calipers are the same item.

[PIG GTS]
22-11-2009, 10:06 PM
so i can use 33 gtr rear rotor if i put the sti calipers on my r33 so im assuming the rotors in width with the sti and 33gtr are the same

for my 6 pot front, 4 pot rear combo i paid a total of $5k ish.

rear 4 pot kit (everything - rotors, calipers, pads, brake lines, brackets, etc) - $2k
front calipers - $2k for the pair (included everything but rotors)
front 355mm rotors are on average $700 to $1200 dollars. non genuine (so DBA / RDA) is cheaper

Use 33 rotors and if you use rear STI brembo you need to change lines to banjo type at caliper end due to the Nissan using flared nut to seal .. Done a few of these upgrades and currently doing 34 sedan , silvia n 180

[PIG GTS]
24-11-2009, 08:37 PM
so these brake lines on the rear just take it to some brake place to make up some braided lines so to the block standard nut and to caliper banjo
oh just to clear this up for the last time
if i use 33gtr brembo calipers obviously use 33 gtr rotors
if i use sti brembo calipers use standard 33gtst rotors
sorry for being a pain in the ass im just pedantic and asian :P

cheers

Sorry to Hi-jack the thread,

I want to fit the brembo's from my Stagea (33 GTR brembo's) to my 34 Gt-t, will these go on? Someone has mentioned the bolt size is different?

Then vice versa, the 34 Gt-t brake's to the stagea?

Measure the bolt hole and compare them

well conversion all done got the front 34gtr brembos calipers off mrmayhem came with brand new endless pads and stock rotors also got a set of 33gtr rotors off him aswell and got rear 34gtr brembos calipers off iluv2moan which came with near new greenstuff pads. although these calipers were gold decided to change the colour to orange. fittting them up were pretty straight forward with a few modifications, rears bolted up fine same bolt sizes all like standard, fronts line brackets had to be modified by cutting up the bracket and re-welding the bracket to a different position for the line to meet properly with the caliper, rotor back had to be straightened out due to the 34gtr rotor being bigger in diameter and hub had to be drilled out to fit the larger bolts to mount up the caliper all in all was a semi straight conversion bleeding the brakes were as per usual. pedal feel is nice not spoungy at all car pulls up nicely and does lock up

here is pics of the caliper on car rims are 17inch
