So obviously oztips is no money tipping? So we are tipping with no wagers? That's rather boring! I'd be more interested in throwing $50/$100 into a kitty for the season.

Just don't give the kitty to TJ. I hear he has a soft spot for flaming shots.

Lets fuck off the oztip then and just create our own tipping comp here? Would need 10 people or so willing to play.. at say 20 bucks? Who will hold the money for the season?

Pic a top 3 for WDC, so if 4 people choose the same driver, we can go on countback?

And does anyone genuinely give a fuck enough about the WCC to bet?

Dunno - but we have 116 days give or take to decide the full rules of it all I guess.

What about we do it in the same style as the WDC? Each week you pick your top 8. If you pick the winner = 10 points. Pick second place = 8 points and so on.

It's not too hard to build a site where you login and place your tips every week. Cut off for placing tips is before every qualifying perhaps? Or if cutoff is an hour before the race starts then anything tipped after qualifying is half points allocation. Everyone can see who has tipped what at anytime and then at the end of the season points wins? All it would take is for someone to login after every race weekend, enter the results from 1 to 8 and the rest can take care of itself.

I spent way too much money with Sportsbet this year, so keen for an alternative.

id be in for that, regardless we will have to wait till the Team/Driver Linups are all confirmed although

i thought maybe we could pick 2 drivers a primary and secondary, and you get the points that they score over the season full points from the primary driver half points from secondary, this way it limits the possibility of someone having the same primary and secondary combo + keeps you invested in the competition for the entire season.

anyone else think that this might be a good idea?

How about F1 dream team for the season.

Pick any 2 drivers & a team.

Points for constructor who win, 2nd, 3rd-8th etc.

and driver points as per normal in the actual race.

???

Pick at the start of the season.


To make it easier we can just use the websites so its all automatic and recoreded. will make it easier.

i suppose thats a good idea also, ill just clarify my idea incase someone is confused lets say you have two people with their "Dream Combos"

1. Button / Massa
and then next guy has
2. Massa / Button

and in a race Massa wins and Button come second the points score for these two people will be different

1. Button 8pts / Massa 5pts = 13pts
2. Massa 10pts / Button 4pts = 14pts

this way it allows for more variation between competitors and limiting the exact number of exact same "teams" and similar as above before season starts

does that mean 5 mins before friday practice or sat qualifying?

Scoring is irrelevant. Schumacher is going to win everything so it makes no difference.
