My new Patrol V2

And this is my other toy, I had one with a 25 in it and it went well offorad so I thought I wouild make a offroader and weekend toy as well with a little bit more zing also not quite finished but nearly there

91 shitter still licenced :)
24v jap import converted to 12v
lifted 4 inches
front diff LOCKRITE locker
BRIDE seats for driver and passenger
Engine is a VL turbo bottom end with a 26 top end
6boobs exhaust manifold
Garrett 3076 turbo
50mm turbosmart exhaust manifold
800cc Sard injectors and Sard rail and Sard FPR
OS Giken twin plate
PWR ally radiator
VIPEC plug and play computer and boost control
100mm front mount cooler
trust oil cooler and remote filter
YES MATE RACING custom engine mounts (for big jumps)
Rims will be painted black until I get some 15x10 Procomp alloys
5 point harnesses for driver and passenger

Paint scheme is R34 GTR bayside blue but I may just leave the engine bay like that and have a bling under bonnet, interior is painted chassis black and will have the usual DEFI gauges and shit and a stereo :)

parts were sourced from over east, Banger, Todd Wilko, Borneo and Maytec

Future plans include tuning (ALLSTAR) it on E85 and pushing the dirty30 and then thrashing it through the bush with Banger trying to catch me and chasing Borneo in his buggy

that is EXACTLY what i want to do, except a 25/30 in a GQ as i already have ported 25 head, manifold, ecu etc..

what size tyres you going to run on it, 33/35's?

33s max with out changing diff ratios to 4.8s mine has 4.3s in it now, everywhere in low range but still over 120km/h in 5th low though :)

Thats sik Clint, just wondering what engine model Patrol do you need to start with before you can drop a RB25 or 30 in?

Or is it a case of all models you just need to swap xmember etc?

What else is involved in fitting the engine?

there is a rb30 carby GQ pootrol, so that would probably be the easiest base to start from.. not to mention gives you a 3L bottom end. :)

Box is the standard rb30 patrol box which is pretty much a GTR box in a patrol ....makes the conversion a lot easier, looking for about 400-500 rwhp as thats pretty much what the turbo will do

much love for the GQ's and I used to have a nice one with 4" susp lift, 3" body lift, 35" mudders on 10" and 4 x 15" subbies etc...

wish i'd kept it and built a motor like this though !!!!

Hey Trav the clutch i got off of you is actually for this, the tb box has different ratios and the custom flywheel neeeded is too heavy thus making it lack revs to keep going, has already been tested and failed, Bangers 4.5 turbo should be the goods though :) but the magic torque engine is the 4.8 .... hmm twincam goodness, DUBAI spec :)

Nice build. if i was doing something similar i would go a twin turbo or blown Gen3 with a 6-speed auto but that's coz im from a v8 background. haha.

yeah got as it was, there's heaps of gu's under 20k if u look around, there was a 03 model 4.8 for sale the other day for $18k and u can get 4.5's for around 12- 15k all day
