Is your earth nice and tight?
Is there any paint around the earth? If so make sure you scratch it all away.

Also, this sounds stupid but happens pretty often, have you checked all the wires actually join tightly to the original harness?

If your joining to the ORIGINAL harness, yellow and red could very well be speaker cable colour codes...on some cars the power and accessories could actually be blue/green/brown/whatever on original harnesses

check if your cig lighter still works or if any lights in the dash have now gone out in case you have popped a fuse.

normally swapping stereo looms from pioneer to pioneer are pretty easy as the colour coding is usually the same through the decks

stupid question for you tho..

is there a on/power button you have not pressed/held down

My money's on either a blown fuse, or you haven't hooked up the earth wire properly.

Just in case wiring has changed (for some strange reason), use this site as a reference against you stereo manual
