Heyo Antilag!! I must apologize that, yes it is a Honda and yes it is an Accord (family car) but hopefully this is something different to what you see...Never the less, I was and still a big fan of S14 and S15 but never had the cash after I finished high school. Now I got this, spent a month of endless night and afternoons, and got hooked for the build.

Hondata S300? **EDIT - You've updated the first post with a parts list now :) **
I've wanted to pick up a Hondata S300 for ages but I'm put off by the lack of authorized tuners in WA... in fact there's just the one, SouthWest Customs & Classics which is in Dandalup of all places. If Sean was able to do a good job on the Hondata I may seriously consider getting rid of this poxy Apex'i system and paying ASG a visit.

Should seriously consider getting larger diameter rotors & bigger calipers rather than just getting standard size slotted rotors mate. You can never have too much on the brake & suspension sides of things imo.

southwest 'supposed' to be the authorised tuner but they totally turned their back on me.
Sean had done a great job on K20 civic making 200hp or so All motor, I'm certainly happy with how it is going with no hazzle or problem. Only came back once for a retune on 15psi. I think he is familiar coz the background of nistune, verso, hondata, crome, ectune, neptune is the same.
Give him a call!!

I agree with you. Need something to hold on coz big brake kit (k-sport) comes with $1400 tag but not to say my life and other's worth of. Otherwise, the only direct replacement but requires a 5 lug swap is NSX or Legend calipers...need to consider these.

Power drop off at 6000rpm, the turbine housing is limiting need to change to 0.63A/R so that's next on the list as well.

Thanks for the comments, yeah the outlet of the wg is just intercepting the DP which sucks otherwise would of told wayne (embleton) to pop a flange for the screamer...

naah bro, people overrate H22 and K20. Check out Bisimoto.com build on his fwd drag car. Uses NA F22 engine (the engine I have) makes about 370whp and does 9.4 second 1/4mile. But hey, race car build so I can't say shit.

naah bro, people overrate H22 and K20.
Not those of us running H22's :D
The F22's do tend to be a popular choice though as the can be picked up easily and cheaply and with a bit of research, parts from the H22 can either be installed or machined to fit. But the best thing about having a F22 is that they have cast iron sleeves. The H22 has FRM (fibre reinforced metal) which can be made very thin and very strong with a low coefficient of friction and decreased wear rates when compared to cast iron... however they cannot be bored out. The only real option is to machine the entire sleeve out and press in some ductile iron sleeves like those made by Darton. The F22 can skip much of this lengthy and expensive process:
The stock block

Machining out the entire sleeve and surround
http://lh5.ggpht.com/_A2cnO4HFfU4/SlvJz2XeICI/AAAAAAAAAKg/otyNIuR8cc8/s576/Boring%201.jpg

The result

Then sleeves are pressed into the newly machined block base. Note that these Darton MID (modular integrated deck) are used to "close" the open decked block.

It's interesting to see that you run a fair amount of boost with the open-deck design. Most people with H22's that chase higher boost levels either opt for the H22A1 closed deck or if they have a H22A4 open deck, install a cylinder support to create a semi-closed deck like above.
Are the Accord V6 brakes are single piston front and rear caliper, ventilated front and solid rear discs?
Sorry to thread hijack, I love what you've done and it's good to see a bit of Honda love around here.

and hate to burst your bubble, but the k20a is hardly over rated, its a seriously engineered bit of kit.

I think rather than the H22 and K20 being overrated, its more a matter of the F22 being underrated when it comes to modifying.

Couldn't much more well said. My bad, thanks.
Ohh btw, what have you got there :p build coming up?? Mahle makes pistons that are compatible with FRm sleeves.
v6 brakes are likewise u said
Just days when we need these engine on rwd car or if honda ever makes more rwd. Fwd is challenging but still sucks...

1340kg with full shebang (tyres and seats) a tad under evo :p

No, that build isn't mine. I'm living out my build vicariously though a mate.
Just quietly, I'm keeping a very close eye on his build so that he finds solutions to any problems that arise so I can preempt them on my build. If everything goes to plan (and lets face it, it hardly ever does) I'll have enough stuff together by early next year to make a start on mine.
Monstrous H22 and F22 builds are a dime a dozen in the US but finding people in Aus that know what they are doing is a real pain in the ass. I've already accepted that much of the engine build is going to have to occur out of the state.
Here's something you may or may not have seen - turbocharged, supercharged H22 build from Canada, I think.
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y218/AMPERAGE/02b5906a.jpg
Bit of a hijack, but Ash its finally good to see you're considering building your H22... and yes I agree you'll have to search out of Australia to find what you're looking for!

I swear that twin charge is going to have problems with detonation (high IAT) or turbo overclock. Great originality but if it does the job it would of been big news.

12-11-2009, 12:17 PM
My thoughts too. The intake air charge would have been scorching given that there's no intercooling anywhere along the line. I really have very little info on that engine build other than that one picture I have. I will do some more digging and see what I can find.
Lonewolf
12-11-2009, 11:25 PM
no intercooling means its probably setup for methanol or something like that, but why you would twincharge a race motor is beyond me.
that turbo housing also looks quite small for a 2.2L that has vtec.
HIKARI
12-11-2009, 11:41 PM
hey hey looks the same size as my current one :p
man...so pointless of twincharging esp on street use but it'll be a showcar i bet.
