Probably doesn't mean much to a lot of you but my first website was hosted on Geocities.
I think it was about 2001 and I designed it during one of my classes in high school. Was one of the only sites on drag racing in Western Australia at the time.
That site eventually got me some attention so I got a gig writing for a magazine, which made me go and do journalism at uni, which eventually got me my career today so forgive me for feeling a little nostalgic.
Go to http://web.archive.org/web/20011116234223/www.geocities.com/wadragracing/index.htm to have a look, not much of it is there, but enough to see all it's crappiness hahaha, the heart was there though!
Did anyone else here have their own Geocities sites?
EDIT: cjb.net link taken out, can put it back in if you want to see your Russian bride again Owain.

I think my first site was on angelfire, back in 97 I think. Then I switched to geocities. Mainly used it to host pics of photos from parties and stuff... If I only thought of it more, I could have been the one who created facebook haha.
Ahh shite hey, my first site was also on Geocities!!
It was a Classic Warez website (he he, haven't heard that word for a while!), and I had about 10 or 15 other Geocities accounts that I used to pilfer the webspace on, so I could have Classic Warez downloads on the main site :)
Who else here remembers the animated .gif craze that all websites went through?? Classic :D

Same here, ended up with about 30 different ones, all starting with the same URL, with numbers 1 to 30 at the end haha, all linked up to the main one. Pics were taking up a lot of bandwidth but also needed the storage space :D
Geocities hosted my "Star Trek Voyager Resource Page" in 1996 :|
Complete with permanent "Under construction" animated .gif
/facepalms self.

I had a Geocities page, used to gripe at their version of a web-page creator, was so rubbish!
P.S. Archiveteam.org managed to collect all of these "Under Construction" .gif's off various Geocities pages during their archiving exercise prior to its shutting down.

Ahhh geocities...
and WBS.net.
All went hand in hand with mIRC scripting, and leaching warez off there too.
I remember sitting up all night downloading the first GTA
