so what does everyone else do for a hobby when not messing round with their cars ?

ive been flying my R/C glider lately, made of EPP foam and its meant to be used to slope soar and combat (yeh hitting other flyers out the sky)

i broke the foam wings lastweek while trying to fly inverted. it hit a log pole HARD and snapped :-/

time to do some fixing...

so where do you do this???

isnt it need to be @ special place? last time I checked was near the Freo some where...
reason; so that the radio controls does not interfere with communication and visa versa...

I was ganna invest some $$ on the helicopter last year but told me self not worth it.

anywhere there is a decent slope is good enuf really. my whole plane cost about $280 all up.

i usually fly at mindarie or mullaloo. the place your talkin about is cottasloe (just outside of. leighton perhaps?) Havent seen ppl there in aaaaages now, ranger never liked it with the road being close and all.

heli flying is costly.. and you dont wanna stack a heli

Jetskiing big with me lately seeing as its soo hot. I ride the ski and tow my mate on his wakeboard. Im also trying to learn how to ride the goddamn wakeboard, tougher then it looks let me tell you. And the f*ckin DPI arent only the bastard yellow sticker patrol on the road either, i got a 160 dollar on the spot fine for not having an observer on the back of the ski out in aquinas bay the other day. Yer r/c cars are fun just that they cost alot. I went looking for one last week for a half decent petrol car it turned out to cost around 700 bucks. Plus 90% of em are already built so takes the fun out of it

AndyMac

They don't cost that much if you buy from overseas.. I get stuff from http://www.towerhobbies.com/ usually for less than half what it costs here.
Also electrics cheaper and faster too! Without the stalling and oil getting everywhere

KOB
14-01-2004, 01:47 AM
I've always had electric cars never played with petrol ones. Cheaper dont know electric cars can be very exspensive

dorea86 - get a glider, made of foam so their very hard to break, part of flying on is you get to combat with others (read: aim is to take them out, midair...) cheaper ($100 for controller, $150 -/+ for plane and $20 for spray glue in a can... dont be fooled, they are fast and can do lots) and more fun then a crunchie (plane made outta balsa that breaks easily).

all you need is a slope thats steep and gets lots of wind.

AndyMac
15-01-2004, 10:30 AM
Heeeyyy......Optical...You got links/pics of this attack glider of yours ?

suburban
15-01-2004, 05:59 PM

http://www.antilag.com/personal/gary/PICT00021s.JPG

before adding canopy etc - virgin - never flown

http://www.antilag.com/personal/gary/bustwings/4.JPG

after it said hello to a log pole in heavy winds.... note the abuse its copped from a year and a bit of bouncing off the ground etc...
