View Full Version : another 'flaring the guards' thread
Im sure someone asked this on here a couple weeks ago but I couldnt find the thread. searches only reveled threads years old and threads on rolling the guards.
What I need is to have the flat section on the rear gaurds pulled out at the bottom so that it matches the curve of the panel all the way to the edge and removes to flat edge around the wheel. The lip inside the guard has already been rolled, but I need a little extra clearance due to the agressive offsets of the rear wheels :)
I am aware that this will require the panels to be repainted. I doubt that this is the job for a roller, and I probably need a good panel beater. Looking for anyone that has had this done, where/who did it and are you happy with the job. Photos of the work would be great. Please also post up details of panel beaters that you have had good dealings with that have done a good job on your car regardless of whether it was flaring the guards or something else. just looking for good qaulity work and ill go and see them myself and ask them if they can flare the guards.
Thanks

Kick starting an old thread here but does Des/AutoFX have a workshop. So i can take my car there and get a rough quote/idea of whether what i want doing can be done by him etc.
Or does he come to you?
Edit: I've checked the website already, appears they are call out only but want to check.

i went to his house, he did my front fenders (roll, and slight flare - part of rolling process i believe), for $60 each

Ah k, will give him a call then and try and arrange a time to go round and see what he thinks.
Was thinking about trying to do it myself but if he can do it for that price might just leave it to the experts.

While this is here, can the front guards be rolled and still retain the plastic cover around the wheel arch?
