just wondering the differences between the HKS Pro and Max friction plates?

is it just ones for track and ones more streetable?

can they be retrofitted? or only one type fits in a particular pressure plate?

if you are talking about the two different types of clutches, then as far as the twin plate goes the Pro engages both plates at the same time, the Max engages them one at a time using some sort of spring setup so the Max is easier to drive with. Designed to feel like a single plate clutch with the benefits of a twin plate. The Max can always be upgraded/changed to a Pro.

Thats how I had it explained to me as I have a HKS twin in the Supra. Someone correct me if ive been given incorrect information.

cheers

that sounds similar to what i have done some searching on, so i think you are on the ball.

i might grab the Pro then, as its for the 32 and thats track use only

I have a severe dislike for hkc clutches I haven't used one yet that i've liked. OS Giken For life

fair enough damo.

but for the price difference ($378 delivered for new friction plates) compared to $1800 for a OS Giken Triple plate, ill stick to the hks

im using a hks gd pro clutch in my current build and me mate is also using the same clutch in his 400rwhp 180sx. they engage like a standard clutch and are pretty easy to drive on..

only thing i dont like about hks clutchs is the lack of information around and aftersales support.

say my current clutch is a MAX, would the PRO bolt straight in?

id imagine so, as long as the pro is listed in the catalogue to suit the r32.

actually if u pull one of the plates of the max clutch you have now, and count for me how many 'teeth' or 'splines' it has where it slides over the hub, i can count my gd pro rebuild kit ones and see if they are same...

What bolt pattern do these japanese clutches run?

Its only 1200 for a tilton twin plate with cover, choose your pressure plate strength. Same price for cerametallic and stinted steel
