Gearbox problems R34 tiptronic

lately my car has been getting stuck in 3rd gear. mainly happens after doing skids, but lately it has been happening quite often, not after skids or anything, just random.

any ideas on what could be the prob?

Maybe try and reset the ECU

d/c battery
step on brake for like a minute to discharge the system

My Brother has a R34 tiptronic too,

And when he hits limmiter for too long weather in a burnout or slow to change gears ect it locks into third (abuse control?)... have to stop, turn off, start up, push button by the gear stick thingo, and should be back to normal.. happens often,, this always fixes it.

was just gonna take it to my normal mechanic and get him to suss it out, was reading up on skylinesaustralia kunts reckon its the shift solenoids, so im gonna get him to have a look at that.

If not driving hard could probably be a solenoid. If driving hard probably limp mode.
