To a large extent I agree, on the other hand however you'd be surprised. I got an uncle in europe, when I visited him, walking past the TV room I noticed something familiar... west coast were playing st kilda on ESPN haha. He actually watches AFL regularly too!

Soccer players aren't hard nuts, but in terms of stamina and endurance AFL doesn't even come close.

There are at least 20 other sports I can think of that would top AFL as more physically demanding, with more injuries and require more training. Sorry mate, but pulling a hamstring or a groin muscle isn't a serious injury, it's almost a pre-req in AFL now, and these 2 injuries make up for most sidelining of AFL players for games at a time, and are the result of not being a good enough condition to prevent the injury in the first place. AFL players today aren't what they were 10/20 years ago. They train half as much and certainly aren't as tough as they were back then.

AFL players are allowed to use certain protective gear as well... most of them choose not to. You see better hip and shoulders between a group of blokes messing around in Northbridge pissed on a Friday night than in most games of AFL now.

AFL players today aren't what they were 10/20 years ago. They train half as much and certainly aren't as tough as they were back then.

AFL players are allowed to use certain protective gear as well... most of them choose not to. You see better hip and shoulders between a group of blokes messing around in Northbridge pissed on a Friday night than in most games of AFL now.

No one said soccer players are a bunch of poofs, what i did say, and what caused the argument was that AFL players are pussies. AFL players bodies take a much harder battering than "soccer" players do. Whether its a more skillful game isnt the issue.

EPL and other big Euro soccer leagues are multi billion $$ associations with lots and lots of big international corporation backings etc. There is alot more money tied up in it. How much they earn has nothing to do with their toughness :)

AFL have shit all endurance. We used to get guys changing code over to a mans sport (Rugby Union) And they could barely keep up with me and were fucked by half time, sad when I'm a huge maori guy and they are about 1/2 of the size of me.

Problem with AFL is that its all zoned, so they have a bigger field, but very seldom run the full length.

Not saying that soccer is any better than AFL or vice versa, as soccer players act like poofs on the field and dress like girls off the field.
