A 15-YEAR-OLD boy has been accused of stealing three prime movers and semi-trailers on a round trip to Merriden, where he allegedly sold the load to a local shop.

Police were called to a business in Kewdale at 7am yesterday after staff discovered a truck and semi-trailer were missing.

They later located the abandoned semi trailer at another Kewdale trucking yard where a second trailer had been stolen.

Police say the truck was later involved in a fuel drive-off from a nearby service station and was discovered abandoned at Midland Train Station late yesterday.

It will be alleged the teen drove the truck to Merriden, where police claim he sold the load of 32 limestone blocks weighing 250kg to a local hardware store, before driving back to Perth.

It is alleged he was also involved in the theft of two other trucks during a 72-hour spree.

The teen was charged with six counts of stealing a motor vehicle - three prime movers and three semi- trailers valued at $750,000 - four counts of stealing and two of fraud.

He will appear in Perth Children's Court today.

thats wild, his father must drive the things and hes spent a lot of time watching, cause road rangers are not exactly something you pick up in 5 minutes, not swapping trailers, mighty impressive!

the store owner probably didn't want to or care to ask too many questions as he would have been getting the blocks cheap ( well i'd assume they'd be cheap being stolen and all!! ) :)

He was probably taking automatic trucks as there are now heaps of them on the road. Driving them is easy, flick a switch to get it into gear and use the clutch only to get going and stopping. It certainly makes life easy.

the prime mover i drive is auto n doesnt have a clutch.... but never the less he got some skills at 15....

No because changing from truck to truck is classed as a break

no it's not, you can't drive for 10 hours (with break after 5) and then just jump into another truck without a decent break and drive for another 10
would get reemed
vehicle your driving doesn't mean shit, all in the hours

needless to say that's mighty impressive for a 15yo, he'd have had to have been taught how to drive properly, i'd say his old man is a trucky or something
driving a roadranger isn't something you just pick up without practice lol

It does come to mind that perhaps the kids copping flack for someone elses doin, but I have cousins out farm land ways that where driving this kind of thing at 15 (headers, primes, etc). guess it depends on you up bringing.

only on a company basis, but if theres an accident, worksafe can ask to see the fatuige management sheets

however thats all changing soon and going to a log book method from what i hear, the cops will also be able to look at your fatuige sheets

hahahahaha..

But yea if anyones ever driven a truck they'd understand, and to be honest its not the sort of thing you fluke. Couldnt have been a manual, the kunts only 15. How many 15yr olds do you know who can drive a car? And the ones that can are shit..

This kids got huge knackers... this is not the last we've heard of this menace:lol:

I wouldn't exactly say all 15 year olds drive like shit. How do you know this kid hasn't been bush bashing a farm hack since the age of 12 and actually has more experience behind the wheel in situations than a mid 30's soccer mum who doesn't have a clue.

Sort of; if it was a 4 on the floor with a splitter and a high/low range, that equals 18Speed; still drivable missing gears/not splitting But don't get me wrong, you still have to have a clue about what your doing so +1 about the whole thing being sus
