Mates keypad keeps fucking up in his 02 Sti, wants it gone, anyone removed one and know what the deal is, I heard they are integrated into the ecu, he's running a Autoronic so no idea.

The Brant alarm is split into two modules... keypad immobiliser and alarm. It's the alarm that fucks up all the time.

Alberts Myaree integrated an Autowatch with my Brant keypad, and its worked a treat ever since. That being said, they can remove the keypad also, but its a bigger job. ANY good shop that installs alarms should be able to do it.

I'd be asking Rob Turner to see if he can do it, he's pretty good with that sort of shit.

its actually pretty easy...just carefully remove the brant where its spliced into the loom under the dash...theres probs about 25 black wires that run to the ignition, pump relay, ecu, sensors...remove it all and no highly homosexual brant is there to fuck up

Cheers Andy, but remote central and shit will still work?
And is the Brant spliced in between everything so they have to be joined after removal?

yep and yep on both counts.

it basically takes, for example; starter signal. Its cut into that at one point, goes into the control box, then back out to the starter..Brants are fitted locally, so they really dont cut out too much wire (if any at all) when splicing them in. Its just a matter of getting rid of everything thats linked in, wiring up the original wires.

As they are dealer fitted, the central locking etc will still work :)
