Guys, looking for some advice n thought here I am starting to grow tired of the AWD club as I am longing for the tank slapping curb to curb tire frying drifting i see all around with aother crew in there RWD cars.

Sure my launch is neck snapping good and cornering is like a go cart but I wanna float on tha road more that stick too it now.....

Any advise here from anyone??.... I LUV ma R it fucking rocks and to date I have not been shamed by any 5LTR haha.... its a great feeling destroying all these 5L, 6L even 7L monstas in a pulsar haha... but then i see them sideways smoke billowing left arm on tha sterring wheel and the other held outs towards me giving me the bird....

Sooo im at a crossroads somewhat here ................ any guidance??

R32 GTST coupe
RB20's are alot more solid than the 25. rev harder, and generally look better
gearboxes get abit crunchy after copius amounts of herbs being given

1JZ JZA70 would benice also, pretty much indestructable engine but quite abit heaver than the skylines. 1.5j conversion and you have an easy 350-400 on stock internals.

You want to get your rear end out? Buy my car. Sil80, built head, forged pistons, ~300 on 15 psi, stiff as coilovers, upgraded sway bars. Chuck a 2871r or similiar on and chuck 20 psi in it. will chop hard and will drift till the cows come home.

I've seen this car in person. Chops hard, mass sideways action too, just needs a bigger turbo and you have a fully built beast with 350-400hp atw.

VY SS Ute. Late model so no hassles that you get with old cars.

Plus if you buy mine, you can quite comfortably smoke the rears to your hearts delight on the fwy, or anywhere you choose pretty much, downside is, it does this without being boosted...

S14/S15

They aren't too old like the 180's and R32's. They are relatively light and small unlike the XR6T, R33, Chaser barges. Has a mint rear end, even a novice can drive it tail happy without kerbing it(more so the S15). An almost 50-50 weight distribution. The SR20det is an easy motor to get decent power for the weight (which you probably already know).

Im sure that there are many more reasons, but I asked myself the same question as you and I settled on an S15. You should take one for a drive at the very least.

And the prices have gone down considerably.

.. just my opinion. /flame shield

mine handles like its on rails... in standard form there not the best understeer alot yes.. but with a good set of coil overs rear srtut braces and camber kit it's sorted plus a couple minormods... and you have a road huggin weapon....in regards to power it would have to be somewhat close to the power of my R...

Im steering away from the commo crowd... just in case it's not obvious im not a fan of them:zzz: ... but good luck with that

im quite suprised so many people are saying the XR6 Turbo? Sure...they have alot of hidden power and respond well to minor modifications but they are not the lightest car to chuck into a corner..

I got the oportunity to rape a BA turbo ute (auto) and to be honest I was a bit disapointed, didnt really give you a kick in the guts and to push hard into corners left me feeling a bit uneasy. Just felt like a falcon with a hairdryer. Also didnt the XR6 turbo suffer diff problems?

get a skyrine rarry! - just dont go forgetting it doesnt have ultimate grip and wrap yourself around a pole.

the utes do have leaf rear dont forget. i was happy with my ba turbo sedan at the track. sure its a bit heavy, but when you can get 400hp for a few $k, you dont notice it as much. They are a pretty good package.

I dont undestand why everyone chooses a r32 over a r33. in my opinion the r33 is pretty much the same price as the 32 and its got a better engine and gearbox and the suspension is good also with some coilovers and a diff is highly chuckable. They are slighty heavier but they have the engine and box to back it up.

so a cheapo r33 would be my pick for sure good bang for buck

R32 is lighter & meaner looking imo, I think it comes down to what you like

most people say R32 over the 33 because they beleive the R33 is ugly, in stock form yes, with the right body kit and offset rims I think they look hot.

I have a softspot for Series 2 R33 in white with no wing and type M kit with jap rims... just hot

I looked at numerious R33's but ended up with another 32, just suits me better.

I didnt know that, I was expecting it to be more like the BA GT I drove, that felt alot better.. Both had nothing on the VE SS ute however, that stuck like shit on a blanket

BA 4 speed slushers with leaf sprung rear end are a far cry from a BA sedan mate. Injector, pump & catupgrade combined with a tune will see 400rwhp & swaybars will make it turn... Can't get that sort of performance for $3k out of most cars?

Only running 13 pounds atm, but is tuned for 15. This is because thats around the limit of the turbo, as i only have a T28BB. If i had an aftermarket turbo i would be smashing at least 5 more pounds into it. As i said, built head and forged pistons and rods. The standard bottom end can handle around 350 rwhp quite comfortably.

Whats a cheap R33 (but still good qual) worth?? I like the look of the R33...

9-10k

altho i paid 11 for a stocker :( it's pretty clean though.
rb25's also have a bigger turbo standard, ceramic though so stay under 12psi til you upgrade, also watch out for fuel cut.

turbo-back 3" exhaust, front mount intercooler, and bleed valve set to 12psi should do 190rwkw safely. assuming your coilpacks are in good nick.

they are about 60kg heavier then r32. r33's have better off boost drivability but be aware they're both a big sluggish in traffic til you hit boost.

if I had the chance to do it again I would buy an s14 over r33. especially since they are australian delivered so insurance should be cheaper, have ball bearing t28 from factory and they are very similar under the skin. r33's are still a good car though, look for the 95 onwards series 1.5 and series II models with updated front bar and less ugly rear spoiler.

cheers
