chasing a Salisbury crown and pinion, around the 3.6 ratio.

also, in the long term, would love a 9" housing to suit a HQ Monaro. housing is the main thing, but 31 spline axles and a 3.5 ratio LSD would be good too.

both items are for http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk143/rolly_0/10042009188.jpg

turns out 383 is a little bit too much for the standard diff....

Put a VN commodore diff in it cheaper, lighter, shitloads of ratio's to be had and plenty strong enough aswell.

we were considering the commonwhore diff, or any borg warner diff actually, since skylines and falcons have better hand brake mechanisms. but would rather go 9", as some point in the future this thing will get a set of slicks put on, and try and put some good numbers down. not really a fan of re-splined axles, and if were going to pay for billet axles, and the diff to be cut down, id rather go for the stongest option.

NO need to respline the axles as the VN diff is only 5mm narrower.
Had one in my coupe for 9years 304 to 355 to TT1uz 500 atw, been down the strip heaps with slicks and semi slicks no probs yet.
Cactus runs one in his rb25 HQ sedan with no probs either, if it isn’t a full on drag car then I wouldn’t waste my money going to so much expense. Not that a 9" is a waste of coin but you get my meaning, more money for other mods :)
