zap has had a bad crash in his monaro today.
Its already on its way to burns chassis shop for repairs and should be ready soon.

Damn shame to see this happen, worst case i suppose he could use the new car for racing :)

bet hes gonna be super pissed though, can imagine him being devo over what ever caused it, as john is super anal about getting it right, but speaking to him recently hes mentioned the car has developed a new lease on life with him through the extra power and speed its gathered.
I suppose of all the racers he will grow from this and make it a positive :cool:

got off the phone from a friend of a friend of a friend who spoke to a friend who drives the car was saying that the track was real bighty all day, and especially the left lane,
John is a left lane hog and apparently it just hooked up bad and turned right, if i hear any news from my friend group hug circle ill let yous know :slap:

? Don't think that car has had a major crash. Its scraped/nudged the wall a few times but nothing like that.
When you race at close to 20 events a year these things happen.
Watching the footage from Sports Tonight he was off the throttle even before it starting going sideways, very hard snap.

nah thats not this one, thats the old one, almost 10 years back. fuck, not a good start for the reigning champ. hopefully he gets back in there soon.

Had a drag racing club meeting last night. General word is the chassis from the firewall forward has been cut off. Obviously a fair bit of fabrication work involved in rebuilding, but think they have a month or so to get it fixed before the next meet. Not sure on the damage to the engine.

Apparently the crash was a result of severe tyre shake which made the car go left, Zap then corrected right, and then the tyres bit and took the car into the wall. VERY lucky not to be a direct head on hit. And also lucky Fabbietti had a slow launch (.900 reaction or something), otherwise could have been a t-bone.

As for using the new car - almost impossible. Car hasn't even been tech inspected yet, let alone licensed.

the car is now coming to perth to be fixed as burns customers didn't want zaps car pushing back their car build ups.
All i can say is they better be faithful to burns now because that's one big customer to turn away
