This has been in the formulative stages for quite some time, but we now have a choice of dates with which to proceed.
Format will be 6.00pm-9.00pm on a Friday night using the sweeper and hairpin section of the track. Due to the tight timeframe we will evaluate entries on an individual basis based on experience and car and personal presentation. We want a tight, professional event and as such will be screening the entries to ensure this is the case.
If you would like to participate please email c_redrift@yahoo.com.au
Please Detail:
- Personal Experience
- Car
- Include a current image of both yourself and the car.
If you are selected you will be notified of the particulars shortly. Expressions of Interest will not be taken after Monday, 21 February 2005.
Please direct any queries to me at jash@tpgi.com.aujash@tpgi.com.au

Nice work, getting the ball rolling for a drift event less than 2 hours from Perth. Bring it on!

I believe you need to be a member of a CAMS Affiliated car club - such as the WACC or the Nissan Car Club (I'm in the WACC, but they're mostly rally-oriented).
Keep in mind you will also need a cams approved helmet to participate in any event.

$100 for 3 hours?
Thats cheaper than Langtrees.
You could pay 75 bucks for about 3 minutes at an MC Round Peta.
Welcome to Motorsport.

Updated info:
You DO need to be a member of a cams affiliated club: WACC, Nissan Car Club or Light Car Club are three good examples: if you're lacking in funds the Pitstop Bookshop runs a CAMS affiliated club that you can join for $30 at the shop.
For a tarmac event like drifts you would probably be looking at a Level 2S license, you'd need a helmet and a secured fire extinguisher (I'm fairly sure, but correct me if I'm wrong.) You can get a temp licence for events like this though, included in the fee. You might not save anything by already having a CAMS license... But they're good things to have anyway.

congrats jash, about time someone did the hard yards in perth.
100 bucks - 50 for collie, plus the 300 in fuel it normally it costs. perths best venue with cams license and insurace - not too bad a price
i hope all the drifters out there support this event

i think events that you only need a cams level 2s licence, you don't need a fire extinguisher. i know you don't need one for tuning days at wanneroo. all the same its not a bad idea to get one. they're about $50 for one with a metal bracket.
and don't forget, if you're participating you need full length non flammable clothing.
to get a Level 2s licence you need to go to the cams people wherever they happen to be on the day and hand over $80 for 12 months. no tests or anything. you're just buying the privelage to compete

collie is far yes. but its a fun drive, and its good to get away every now and then.
But for something more regular we need something in the metro area so bow down to jash.
btw, if anyone goes to collie i highly recommend staying sat night in bunbury. hey Tj ;)
