View Full Version : Pay It Forward Thread.

Mods id suggest maybe a sticky :)
Simple concept really ive worked in a few industries in my time and while i was at some place i found it amazing how much people pay for some shit in comparison to how much the company buys it in for ... now i know that every business has to runa profit and the current economy is pretty tight but theres still a need to look out for your mates and people that you know through here. Basically this thread will become a one stop shop for all your needs if anyone can help you out.
Basically whats you line of work and what services can you offer ... if you work in automotive industry maybe you can help guys out with car parts at trade price ... if your a panel beater or painter maybe you can hook people up with cheaper rates ... if you own your own business maybe you can hook up discounts for antilag members ...if you work in a computer store maybe you can help people out with discounts ... or like myself if you work in recruitment maybe you can help guys out with jobs ... its not hard to figure out and before people start with the Charity Mods spec calls ... neck up ... this is all about providing a service and helping people out with similar interests.

Are lift kits available for an 07 Grand Vitara 2.7 ?
Not a hell of a lot available for them Im affraid, safest thing on the market for the current model Grandy is 35mm spring lift (Kings), biggest problem with lifting them further is the control arms are so short they put extra stress on the balljoints and driveshafts because of the increased angle. Put springs in it and increase the tyre size and you will get a bit more ground clearance.

If you want to learn how to throw a good solid punch but would rather do it from home than go to boxing class (or if you can throw a punch but want someone half decent to hold pads / light spar with) pm me. $15 if you live close to me NOR ie Morley, Ballajura, Noranda or $20 if your a bit further NOR or SOR. Why so cheap? I'm not a qualified teacher and I'm not doing it to make a living, it's a hobby albeit one that I'm passionate about. So the $$ is just to cover fuel and wear and tear on my gear. I'm available after 3.30 pm weekdays and negotiable on Sat / Sun.

Update....
Concrete Radar Imaging Solutions
I can provide concrete imaging through non destructive testing and locating of reo-bar, post tension cables, conduits and anything else hidden in a concrete slab/wall using ground penetrating radar based system. Also have the ability to carry out sub surface detection for power, comms, optical, sewer lines and water mains. Call me before you dig that hole and sever those cables!
Can also do forensic work, so if you kill someone and bury them I can probably locate the body without having to lift a shovel :)

Basically the builder of our house and the house next door didn't finish off the range hood vent. It has the hole cut out and there is a vent on the roof with ducting down to that spot - but its missing the pipe from the cabinet to the roof.
So we're after either a stainless pipe or something made out of that laminate stuff to get the vent functioning.
Happy to pay cash or get a receipt (landlords are paying and would be keen to deduct). Obviously there is a bit involved, cutting into ceiling, plastering around it , and painting so keen for someone who can do the lot. Also some general painting and fixing up chips in lounge room etc to do but landlords are happy to pay for it too - just want me to organise it.

Has anyone got rental car/truck hookups?
Looking to rent a small truck to move into new house. Probably the smallest truck available for renting - there's not much to move.
Wondering if it's worth bothering, too avoid 10+ trips in a ute.

Just standard drivers license mate. Was hoping that would be all I'd need. Something like a 3t would do the job.
Just chasing a rough cost at this stage, to work out whether it's worth it.
Any help would be much appreciated.

I just used Purcells Earthmoving, he came today and cut out my front yard ready for landscaping to be done.. cost me $350 for him to cut it out and he removed the sand into his truck and bonus was watching him doing stoppies and donuts with the bobcat when moving about.

Also have the Mazda that needs some small imperfections fixed on the body and prepped for paint.

LOL $60/corner, someone saw you coming. $60/SET is about right for any random tyre shop even when i have supplied tyres!all 3 places round the corner from me were between $50-$60 a tyre when i called them...coz
a) they didnt sell me tyres
b) aparantly not using a rattle gain makes them soooo inefficient that they need to charge more for the loss of business while my job takes longer.

as far as painting goes....shit
better places to go to (been covered in a thread somewhere here) or a panel beater...who can prep the rims well before painting.
my rims have had everything from runs, chips, and the product used to etch into chrome spilt on the lip where it shouldnt have gone and caused the chrome to flake

would sliding a thin walled socket in the stud holes to put over nut and result in chipping paint good enough?
its normal paint and should have clear coat on it to help with stopping chipping
front bar faces punishment from front on...how does rims get chipped??
also my VX SS rims on my VT years ago werent even colour matched to each other even tho done at same time. paid nearly $200 for fix and paint per rim and took 6 weeks to do. that was even done as a favour through the owner of alliance family member and still was done crap
