lol ferrari are going to be pissed!! 2 in the country for press purposes and one gets locked up! how long is the impond for first offence now? is it 28 days now?

just adds to how stupid the "confiscate what you're driving no matter who it belongs to" rule is

cops would have loved it though

A police spokesman said: "The incident should serve to remind drivers that regardless of a car’s capabilities, excessive speed is a contributing factor in about 60 people dying on our roads each year

Only 60? I thought they kept telling us the whole road toll was due to all these people speeding everywhere.

Lump

60? And the road toll is allways around 250-270 and they focus so much attention to speed when there is alot more things that kill on the road

vrocious

Butcher
13-07-2009, 03:33 PM
Its easy to smash out 300kph+ on that road so im surprised that he got pinged at 230 unless that was with the brakes glowing red

Article must have been updated. I know Rod. He is NEVER going to live it down.

only 230, people are stupid if they think someone buys a ferrari to drive around slowly and pick up the shopping lol at least he took it out in the bush to do it.

hhaa thought it was blackfc's dad for a second

surely the driver would lose job or at least no longer hanve insurance to drive the cars?

kirbo
13-07-2009, 04:17 PM
If this had been in any other country the cops would have been given a test drive and the driver would be on their way. All smiles!

Ferrari? Publicity none the less!

I thought I spotted a California at the Dealer late Saturday night when I drove by.

Guess this confirms it was as it was not there today.

Lonewolf

And imagine what the article would of read like if it was a 25 year old in a modified import.

Absolute bullshit.

^ X2..

just charged with wreckless driving.. if that was any of us it would of gone national with new laws introduced, instantly crushed and gone to jail and violated with poly pipe and barb wire.

I wonder if he is going to lose his job over this incident also :) Being that he's supposedly a Motoring writer... Else he'll be sticking to track only testing for a while.

Julimar Road is fine any time of the year except July-August. Cops will be constantly around those roads are there are Targa West stages there and everybody will be out pace noting - you'd be mad to be doing those speeds there at this time of the year!

I doubt he'll lose his job. He's a very influential man in the scene, and he's got a lot of backing around the place.

stormtrooper
14-07-2009, 07:44 AM
All good then, it'd suck to lose your job because you were more or less safely testing a car. Seriously, if you're out in the middle of NOWHERE I really don't see what the big bloody deal is.

yes, Even on 6pr this morning. The presenter didn't even seem to give two shits. Yet if a young bloke is doing 150kmh in a car worth fuck all, he gets severely raped.

Apparently buzzin_rx2 won it?

If it was Tony Mac, he doesn't.

He speeds all the time. Was with him today at the Prius launch, and on the record he has to make a stand, but off it, he couldn't care less.

Steve Lague from the West also lied through his teeth. All the journos in Perth are reeling as they don't get a test, as it stands.

would his boss really care? doubt he was given the car and expected to stick to the limits

He got to drive (apparently) a silver 612 Scaglietti, no other Californias in WA as far as I know (only over East).

Only 2 Californias, 1 here in WA the other over east.
