that was my exact thoughts
i'm inclined to say that its inside the lens. if its on the sensor it will always be in the same location

ive got a couple of dots on my cameras ccd. havent a clue where to take it for repair tho. The one place i was told by a camera shop had shut down its repair centre.
Anyone know a decent repair centre in perth for nikons ?

Camera house on Cecil av, cannington does it, not sure if their other stores do it. Never used them before, always took mine for a sensor clean to Hartland Camera Repairs in the city, they're an authorized nikon service centre

if you're still looking for a camera repair place in Perth I reccommend Max Dellaway, 14/336 Churchill Ave, Subiaco. ph 9382 8800. Really nice guy and does not rip you off. Does the repairs himself.
