more lock for sure! 10/10 for what I wanted.

Cost:
$100 pipe mod
$100 auto trans cooler 150 x 200wide
$150 s/h S14 rack
The rack i used had a 6mm ish rack spacer was already fitted to a stock replacement looking jic tie rods and rod ends these Look like the R32 skyline ones but gold anodised.
The stock hose from pump to rack(skinnier pipe) was modified to have a silvia type (S13/S14) threaded hard pipe fitting that connects to the rack instaleed inplace of the skyline one. leave the original pressure sender(?) in the line too (I did).
also the rack imput shaft was replced with a S13/180 one. shaft that spans from the rubber linkage to rack including the uni-joint must be used. its 10mm ish londer than the hcr32 one to reach the s14 rack.
Lastly, unplug the small coupler on the hicas computer under the parcel tray to get rid of the hicas warning light.
must have your car 'wheel -alinged' by a pro. I made mine 3mm out toe. zero at the back.
Impression: the lock to lock feels just as quick as stock. feels little heavier to rotate but less turns, so quicker steering responce than stock. I heard Hicas equipped CA18 S13/180 had a quicker responce rack with 24 tooth opposed to non-hicas rack with 26 tooth. but they are getting old....eh
I took out all the hicas gear art the same time and plumbed in a medium sized transmission cooler to the hicas pump side and had it returning the fluid to the power steering resavour. it was needed to keep the system cool even at ide!O
ther options for more lock is to shave the knuckle stoppers or buy or have a modded knuckle with shorter arms.
watch out for binding and adding more spacers. binding happens when the tie rods are pushed out much more than stock and goes past the pivot of the knuckle and locks under the cornering weight. this effect is a steering that locks and cannot be returned to centre until the car's stationary. im not a pro but it'll make you crash for sure. so respect the steering system.
