Hey Guys

Regularity is a type of competition that is massive in the east but fairly small over here. WASCC Runs modern regularity (anyone can enter) and the aim of the game is to post lap times as regular as possible to your nominated lap time. Points are awarded for every second over or under your time and the person with the least points at the end of the day is the winner.

Now this may sound like a really boring idea, who wants to drive around trying to do exactly the same lap time every lap?!! However, with up to 25 cars on the track at a time and 2-by-2 rolling starts this is as close to circuit racing as you can get with a level 2 licence.

CAMS remind us everytime that it is NOT a race, it is about being regular, however you still basically go as fast as you can to reach your nominated time, in traffic.

This is a truely fantastic event and my dad and I have been competing in these events for several years. We even went to Phillip Island, Bathurst, Oran Park and Eastern Creek to compete in regularity events over there ( http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=whittie260&view=videos for in car vids of some of the regularity events i've competed in).

Support for this category is dwindling in WA and the WASCC board wants to drop it after this year unless numbers grow. If you're not doing anything on the 25th then come and play, or at least watch as it would be a shame to see such a great event dissapear. Like i said, in the east this is the SINGLE largest field at all race meets.

at $150 for the day you can expect about an hour of track time over the day, far more than any sprint event!

Remember, this is still level two eventing, it is not racing, and if you hit anyone it's recieved REALLY badly. Regularity is about fun with other cars on the track. If you wanna bully you're way through the field and colour your car with everyone else's paint, you will be disqualified and probably told to go away and have a good long think before you come back. Don't be turned off though, so long as you stay on the black stuff and out of other peoples panels, you couldn't have more fun on a race track!

My dad and I are also trying to get interest in a 3-hour regularity relay. It will be teams of 4-6 drivers, minimum 2 cars, one driver per team on the track at a time (a tag-team time system) and the winners will be the team that does the most consistent laps over the 3 hours. This is run at phillip island as a 6 hour event and is hugely popular, we would like it to be the case here as well. So far there are about 5-8 teams who are interested but always looking for more!

Yeah it really is a HUGE load of fun. Go out for fun, or go out to post most regular (VERY hard in a fast car, overtaking slows you down a LOT) either way you will have a ball.

This one on the 25th came up due to drift wa being cancelled. There is another round on the 15th of august if you can't make this one.

Be good to see some more nice cars out there!!

Sounds awesome, pity I'll be racing at Collie on the day. If you can post up the next one that would be great, would love to attend.

How often do bingles occur? I know it's frowned upon, but it still happens fairly often seeing as the format allows 2 cars to start at the same time right??

Brockas, next one is August 15th. I'll make another event for them tommorrow.

03xr6t, I have never witnessed an accident between two cars in 3 years of regularity. Spinning off, hitting walls, yes, but not accidents between two cars. The purpose of regularity is chasing your time, not other people (well, not supposed to but well you pretty much do :P) so it's very much 'gentlemans racing' if you want to put it that way, the purpose being you give room so as not to cause accidents whilst still pushing.

By two-by-two i mean the whole field lines up in two rows, up to 25 cars. First corner can be very interesting :D

Here are a couple pics of the historic regularity at wanners, and an incar from wanners. Historic regularity is restricted to pre '77 cars, as in the pics, however the event on the 25th and the 15th are modern regularity, where all street cars are welcome. The fields are broken up by time, so you wont have to deal with cars extreamly slower than yourself.

Hi Everyone,

As some of you may be aware, and for others this is an invitation, my dad and I have been trying to get support going for a 3 hour regularity relay at Wanneroo Raceway. This event would be of teams 4-6 cars and would be similar to the event run at Philip Island at their 6-hour relay. The idea will be to nominate a time as a team and try and post the same lap time consistently for the event, with driver and car changes in a tag-team type style, one car from each team on the track at a time.

The 25th of July is the next regularity event at Wanneroo, a modern regularity event which means that anyone can enter in any car. Reading the Supplementary Regulations I stumbled across a very interesting note, that there are plans to run a 90 minute regularity trial of teams of 4 cars. This would be the perfect time to try out for a 3-hour event.

The relay event is also penciled in for the 15th of August regularity trial.

In order to get the 3-hour event off the ground I think it would be a great idea if we could get as much support as possible for this 90 minute event. For everyone who is already entering the regularity, good on you, for those who aren't: Why not? It is a fantastic event where the winner is the person who does as close to their nominated lap time as possible, not who is the fastest, exactly the same as how the round-the-houses events are run.

I will be getting in touch with the event organizers tomorrow to try and get the 90 minute relay penned in. I will email again to let everyone know if it is a definite or what is happening. For now, perhaps people can think about forming a team and trying to get as many entrants as possible to make this a great event.

For some videos of regularity events at Wanneroo and also right around Australia, I have many in-car videos on my YouTube profile: http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=whittie260&view=videos

A great indication of the fun us zed boys have, here is my favorite regularity trial video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CJn4M5SktwY&feature=channel_page

For more information about the event on the 25th and entry forms go to www.wascc.com.au

Well i got in touch with Mr Raymond Shaw who is running the event and got some more details.

The club really wants to see a regularity trial work so before running head-long into a 3-hour or 6-hour relay they are going to try running 90 minute relays as an add on to the timetable on the 25th July and the 15th August regularity trials.

Teams can nominate on the day, so no need to submit teams before the event, and they would like about 10 teams before they will run the event.

So this is like the circuit racing version of "dial your own" drag racing? sounds like a lot of fun! So entry is $150 plus a cams day license? (if u dont have cams)
and do you just show up and enter on the day?

nail on the head streatracer.

If you go to the WASCC website www.wascc.com.au and click on the link to the 25th regularity you can download the entry form. Scrutineering is on the day, but you have to enter prior to the event. I usually put my entry in and then pay on the day.

Well this one is on tomorrow.

Anyone from here going to be there?

If you are then make sure you pop over and say g'day. I'll be in the car in my avatar, just with less stickers. Only silver Z with sponsorship so should be easy to spot
