Who has successfuly removed tint themselves?

If so what method did u use?

I dunno if i gonna be able to get my car to the tint place before my yellow expires on sunday to get the tint removed so i may b forced to do it myself.

I was thinkin heat gun then some prepsol or acetone to remove the glue residue. The tint is only 7 months old so i figure should come off pretty easy?

depends on the quality of the tint man, its not that old most of the film should just pull off then just wax and grease the glue off is only a hours work

cheaper tint will come off easier, quality stuff will really be stuck like shit to a blanket

i have never used a head gun if its hard to get off just use blades and scrape it off still not a long job, on your back window though if you put one cut in the demister it wont work anymore but most people dont care about that :)

ask kye, his method only leaves 50% of the glue intact.

just use a single edge scraper blade and a spray bottle with soapy water for the sides (change blades regularly bout 3 per window) and as said dont scrape the rear unless you dont use heater bars steam to get tint off and any form of glue remover and steel wool to remove glue hope that helps :)

had to remove rear tint on mine for pit inspection
just used a heat gun and my fingers took about 10-15 minutes
mostly comes off in big strips.

By far the best way to do it. Make sure you have a far bit of steel wool. You go through it quite quick
