Looking at purchasing a HD video camcorder, whether it be brand new or second hand.
Not really into my camcorders so I'm not sure what brand and specs I should be looking for.
Prefer to spend not much more than $600, as I won't be using the camera that much. Mainly to record family things. However just looking at JB Hi-Fi online, it seems HD camcorders are around the 1k+ mark.

I've also noticed some happy snap digital cameras have HD video, but they seriously can't compare to HD video camcorders...or do they stand up pretty well with them?
