Insurance for a 21yo female?

Lads,

I've had a quick look around and found some of the insurance threads, but wondering if someone can point me in the right direction with insurance for 21yo female. Car will be an Evo 7, lightly modified.

Just Car are the obvious choice but online quote only insures up to $27,500 for some reason.

About to check out Famous Insurance - any pros/cons that anyone knows of?

Personally would keep away from Famous. Bad experience during a claim. They don't give a true agreed value and I knew the manager there!!. Just Cars or Shannon's if you want proper insurance. Or if you want really cheap insurance just call Budget-but don't ever claim !! LOL.

Shannon's isn't an option, under 25. I've always used Just Car but a little concerned about the covered amount of $27,500.

27k might just be an online limit. Try giving them a call. Most companies only go to a certain limit etc on-line. Esp. with high risk cars.

i found calling them and speaking to a sales rep yields a different outcome to doing an online quote. might be an idea just to call them (just car) up and see what they can do for you.

I had wondered about this, as their website says an online quote can't be provided for under 25. Then I saw the footer on their website that says "Under 25, modified car, give Just Car a go" - will give them a call tomorrow as well.

i was with just car insuring a fairly modded 33 when i was 18 - 21, and then was with shannons insuring my legnum at 21.

Im 21 - insured with Shannons no complaints as yet. Was insured with HBF before but could only get because i had health insurance with them.

As others suggested give Shannons a call and see what they say.

I think it's all about how they percieve you. Like if you built the car, I'd suggest they would consider you to be less likely to go out and do something stupid as it's your pride and joy. As opposed to buying a modded car and thrashing about. Shannon's employees may be able to shed a little more light.

I've been insured with Shannons for the Datto under my name, and about five other cars on the old mans policy since 19. They asked alot of questions for my first policy, and were bviously satisfied I was an enthusiast. Haven't made a claim to date, so I'd say their pretty happy witht he decision.

I've been with shannons since i got my car at 16. Didn't wanna know till i told them i had a CAMS licence, then it was all doors open... If she's gonna take it out and have fun in it, might be worth a shot?

I've had 1 claim with them when i hit a beemer with my daily and everything was sweet, one phone call and everything was sorted.

Spoke to Shannon's... they aren't interested. I have had success with Just Car.
