yes because there is absolutely no other crime out there that is currently going on, they've solved organised crime, rape, murder, assault, drug dealers, and theft. yes they're all sorted, lets concentrate on people driving cars. this will be good.
fucking idiots.
adding to what bakerboy said, the jails are already heading for overcrowding, assault and theft charges seem to get off with a slap on the wrist, why would you send someone to jail for street racing? there's the same chance of killing or injuring someone except there's absolutely no intent. utter fucking joke.

Because the current hoon legisation has worked so effectively??
Actually part of the reason I moved to Thailand was because I was sick of being harrassed by police in Australia for driving lawfully. I haven't had a speeding ticket in years, never been done for any other driving offence except minor speeding offences, yet I would get pulled over for RBTs and licence checks every second day and the muppets would try and find piss weak excuses to put a yellow sticker on my car while asking stupid fucking questions like
"What motor is that?"
"It's an RB20 turbo, you can see where it is stamped on the front of the motor here in huge letters"
"Is that a blow off valve"
"No, that's the turbo charger"
Utter fuckwits, all of them.

The question to ask yourself, if this law was in place in wa, and you saw flashing lights in your rearview, would you stop or speed up?

Young guy that shot the 19yo kid over $100 drug debt in Bunbury just got out after serving 2 years, street racer's will probably get 5 years. Absolute crock of shit & these fucking jokers need to wake up... Drink drivers contribute to the road toll 100 times over in comparison to street racers i bet, yet no confiscation laws or even the threat of jail time for severe repeat offenders :(

What an absolute crock of shit. It's shit like this that proves that the media are nothing more than sensationalists crapping on for a story.
Someone should find the arsehole who wrote this and ring his bell.

"And that includes burnouts, drag racing and antics that you wouldn't believe if you saw it.
"In March, I got one guy who had his friend on the roof hanging on while he was doing a burnout. The mate, if he'd been driving, would have been done for drink driving with the amount of alcohol in him. For them it's just a bit of fun but it's going to kill someone one day."
mwahahaha what a sheltered life these pingpingpingpings live if something as ordinary as holding onto a roof while doing a burnout is so out there that you cant believe your eyes mwahahaha

i see the training they are getting is working well. who's there teacher? a 5 year old?

"MECHANICAL workshops which will - for a fee - replace illegally modified components with standard ones so hoons can get a defect notice lifted. The mechanic will later reinstall the illegal parts."
Of course they will change the illegal parts so you can get your car passed, thats what your paying them to do. They are only putting stock parts back on which is LEGAL, then later putting illlegal stuff back on, half the stuff they sell to to put on your car isn't 'legal' anyway, this doesn't always mean illegal is unsafe or unroadworthy like a BOV (Blow off valve), doesn't harm anyone, but still illegal.
"HOONS compiling online databases of car parts that can be borrowed to get defect notices overturned."
People with similar cars are going to lend you parts to get your car passed because half the time the reason the car is stickered is BS. Stickering cars because they look modified with bigger rims, lowered etc is just stupid, most of the parts on cars that would be 'modified' would make the car better, safer, ie better suspention and handling, better tires and rims (different profile tires have different ratings), more power, more efficient engine etc etc. if my cars was stickered, i know i would borrow parts just to get it passed, factory or stock isn't always better and people like to modify cars -it makes them individual, if anything they should try to 'police' the quality of the parts to make sure the PARTS aren't cheap unreliable rubbish.
