Scar-non,

My VY SS has shit an engine mount, apparently its quite common. Just after advice on whether to replace with a standard part or a after market (poly) product such as Lovell's, a slight increase in NVH is ok.

Thanks hampions.

Mate the way i look at it the standard ones are alot cheaper and they lasted in my car for 180k. Im not keeping my car for another 180k so standard should be fine. Unless you have a 500hp beast you should be fine with standard

Yeah good point, but if genuine is ~$140 each and the polys are $330 a pair. Whats $50?

Oh herrooo!!! I've got lovells mate, they're the go. You got a cam? Expect some extra shake and some shit to come loose if you do. Otherwise, they'll outlast the stockies by far. I didn't pay anywhere near 330 for them either from memory..

Yeah mate I've got 232 deg cam, rollers, pushrods, N20 etc.

Yeah I think they are about $240 actually.

For comfort alone i'd go for the stock ones. Horse power doesn't brake them, old age does.

True enough but these are polys not solids. I dont think NVH will be greatly increased, car is lumpy as anyway I doubt I'd notice.

Standard ones are the go unless you have two tone paint and need rainbow coloured engine mounts. :)

Shane didn't you brake your aftermarket ones (noltec from memory) really quick? or am I dreaming.

No, haven't broken mine but they do rattle my teeth loose.
The original noltec ones that came out had big problems with the heat from extractors braking down the poly and tearing in two. The new ones are a different design.

cams will fuk them hard..thinking decent engine movement even at idle wont cause them to split the seal prematurely is short sighted. the stock ones are rubbish, i wouldnt go solids unles syou wnt the car shaking all over the place but definately would go after market.
