wow.
F1 cannot continue without FOTA members, cop that bernie and max!
Excellent.
Maybe my SG F1 tickets will be a few hundred dollars cheaper next time.

i wouldn't be surprised if the FIA back down here, and meet the FOTA criteria. i mean there is no series without the FOTA teams really.

The FOTA teams will also end up pocketing more cash in this situation :) Now Max can go back to being spanked....

Think they need to sack a few top people in the fia and give it a freshen up...
to many old power/fame hungry dinosaur dictators doing what they feel is good for the sport without listening to anyone in it or watching it...

haha that'll fuck em
I've heard that they're negotiating a new series with the same people that run moto gp, that should be cool. we might get some of the good tracks back now instead of going to these joints with no crowds but nice areas for the vip's.

Are you for real?
And you consider yourself a F1 follower?

Apparently donnington have sorted out their financial issues.
Saying that however it might not matter as if FOTA go their own way which they look like they are, Silverstone could be back as part of their championship.

dont think ive ever considered that. used to follow it alot more when i was younger (ie senna/hill days)
i dont read f1 forums etc etc. and about the only coverage i get to watch is the actual races.
so no, im not a diehard fanatic like u may have thought i was.
edit: just google - finacial reasons
Nothing to do with financial reasons to be honest. The event sells out every year, and Silverstone pays its fees with ease.
Its Max and Bernie wanting control from the BRDC (british racing drivers club) over a few things, so they did a deal to fuck them over and take it to donnington.
Now donnington will have borrowed 80 million pounds to finance a track rebuild for a series that may never exist.
Glorious karma.

if this new series actually happens there's going to be quite a few mssive law suites bought up. fia/fom vs ferrari and red bull/torro rosso for breaking their contract to race for a few more years, donnington park vs fom for the track funding for a race series that is now a non event, sponsors vs everyone for void contracts relating to coverage in F1 events, blah blah blah.
it will be nice to see races at venues because the track is good, not because they've got the latest and greatest surroundings. F1 at laguna seca would be cool to get back into the us as would a return to canada, always liked that track. things like that, take all the bullshit out of the sport again.
Road America > Laguna.
Laguna apparently is nowhere near up to F1 standard, R.A is one of the worlds great tracks.

I dont think you could ask for a better street circuit for F1's. Having them scream up riverside drive then down SGT, Have the Red bull air race on the same weekend sounds like a win. Too bad Wa is now referred to as the anti-motorsport nazi state, where the words performance and cars are frowned upon

air race and f1 on the same weekend would be epic, all the greenie eco warriors would love it
Hold it on Mundairing Weir Rd I reckon.
TJ's VN will fuckin CHOP the F1 cars down there.

That would be bombed.
Each car could have a plane paired up with it, and the plane could fly just above the F1 car doing flips and shit while the F1 car is racing around the street circuit.

Sort of like the choppers that follow the rally cars around! Only, the WA Govt. got rid of the rally too after it 'only' MADE $4,000,000 profit.
The track for CBD Perth I would like to have:
Start/Finish along Riverside Dve, turn right at the Belltower, left onto SGT, right at West Perth down to Polly Pipe Eastbound, epic Tunnel Run, full stick till right onto Burswood Dve, full piss through there, right onto Gt Eastern back over the Causeway onto Riverside Dve.

surely u would have to incorporate the cobble stone horse shoe bridge into your imaginary track?

Fuck no, why the hell would anyone want to drive over that POS, let alone showcase the scar of Perth to an international audience?
I should add though that there would need to be a chicane after the tunnel exit as the (relatively) straight would be too long and boring.
