I picked up a new camera last week. It's called a Go Pro Hero. I picked up the motorsports pack. Click here for info. (http://www.goprocamera.com/index.php?area=2&productid=2) Pretty damn good for $300 (picked it up in a group buy). Just stuck onto the car with the suction cup that comes with the package. I hit $1.20 on this run and the camera holds on without any worries at all. I'm keen to test it out at Wanneroo or AHG or something.
I know sound volume is very low. I still have to play around with setting on the camera. This is also my first attempt at using video editing software, so you'll have to excuse that as well.
I love watching the supension work. I can't wait to get it on the bike and go for a ride on that. :D

yeh, i recommend this too... non group buy prices are $340 and the "shop" is located just at the back of Curtin University.
started off as helmet cams, but progressed to car mountings etc.
i think Jason (penuts with aristo) knows the full story or something. he's been using one for ages
and you are correct damon, its very quiet... its due to that O-ring in the waterproof housing
here's a test i did at night -- showing it needs a fair bit of light for full results

Check out the link on PSB man (I picked mine up in the group buy there). There are heaps of vids on there of them being used. I'll see if I can find a couple of vids.
JUST MAKE SURE YOU PUT THE SUCTION CUP ON PROPERLY. One guy didn't. It fell off his car and he drove over it. Goodbye money.

The best one is the VHoldR.
We used one overseas and resolution, frame rate, clarity, everything craps all over the GoPro.
Yes, I've used both.

My mate has the GoPro wide on his helmet and had a BIG lose on the beach and half in the water. The camera took the first hit to the ground followed by his 100kg body and the mount didnt move at all on his helmet
Video is here, the stack is about 6 mins into it

how did he stack that?
Hit a soft spot in the sand.

unfortunately the camera doesnt have very good depth of feild or white balance. If you look at the tracks off the back of my bike you can see the spots where we get air off the washouts. They arent huge but he landed on a soft spot close to the water and had a tank slap from hell

do these goPro cameras have the ability to set up to a constant power supply? and a microphone/intercom input? i want one but im not sold on the sound :(

No & no. The mic does have 2 different sound levels it can record at. The vid I put up in the first post is of the low sound level. I haven't had a chance to test with the high volume setting yet.
