everytime we used to get on the piss we'd argue this ...
Tyson ( 80's version non fucked up ) Vs Ali ( non retarded )
I would put EVERYTHING on Iron Mike to punch Ali into early Parkinsons.
fast
strong
low centre of gravity
arms out wide

Yep think tyson would destroy him. In his prime was a scary thing. Never seen footage of Ali that made me never want to meet him haha.

i would put my money on iron mike as well i just loved the way he would come out in the opening round and try to end it right there by trying to knock the opponents head off ,hugely entertaining to watch
even though ali was great i just hate cocky attitudes even if its just for show

hmm...thought about this alot too.
Tyson is the most dangerous fighter of all time and probably the most naturally talented fighter too. Ali is the smartest fighter to ever step in the ring, especially later in his career. Tyson would win if the fight ended early but if it went to the later rounds my money would be on Ali.
cvnt was an animal in his hay day no ifs or but your holes....i'd have been swayed to put my $$ on him when he was at his peak...

imo...
Tyson would have to catch Ali before any damage could go down, so if Ali sticked and moved like he did with his dancing it could be a fight that went for 3-4 rounds..... but once tyson got him would be all over.

tyson had the real ability to land a knockout punch right on the button.
Quite a few others have had knockout power, but not the timing.
Tyson vs Ali, i'd pick tyson, but the longer the fight went on, the more likely for Ali to win.

tyson would kill him....
dont know where vid is but the one where tyson just punches this blokes gloves while in a defensive position protecting his face then getting knocked out by his own hands is classic

100% Ali.
Tyson beat bums, Ali beat legends.
Tyson relied entirely on his big hits which is pointless against a stayer like Ali.

Ali could NOT take a Tyson hit ... no way

LOL I meant that Ali took George Foreman's punches, over and over, and still came back to win.
Tyson could only hope to hit as hard as Foreman.
Rope-a-dope (in this particular instance, Tyson is a dope!) :werd:

Mike tyson knocked out Shawn "HBK" Michaels in WWF.
Therefore he can clearly beat Ali.

Lets not forget Frazier...
A good way to look at it is to see who they got beaten by.
Ali got beaten by champs.
Tyson got beaten by chumps.

I reckon Tyson would destroy Ali, just my opinion though. :)

First 4 rounds, Tyson, if it went to round 5 or later, Ali...
Tyson came out blazing, had a problem with stamina, he could keep going, but he had nowhere near the power he started with.
Ali could take the hits, just hoping he could take enough from Tyson to last the first 4 rounds and he'd have his chance.

In late July 1969, shortly before his death, Marciano participated in the filming of the fantasy, The Superfight: Marciano vs. Ali. The two boxers were filmed sparring, then the film was edited to match a computer simulation of a hypothetical fight between them, each in their prime. It aired on January 20, 1970, with Marciano winning by knockout in 13.

Would have been awesome stuff. Especially with the technology they had in 1970. How the fuck can a computer predict a decision in one of the most unpredictable sports ( read one punch ko ) nowadays let alone nearly 40 years ago.

Marciano's punch was tested and it was featured in the December 1963 issue of Boxing Illustrated: "Marciano's knockout blow packs more explosive energy than an armour-piercing bullet and represents as much energy as would be required to spot lift 1000 pounds one foot off the ground.

Regarding the Superfight:
Here's all you need to know about computer fights. In September of 1970, they used the same computer that produced the Marciano-Ali fight to pick the winner of the Joe Frazier vs. Bob Foster heavyweight title fight in November of 1970. The computer picked Foster to stop Frazier in the sixth round. Since Frazier knocked Foster out in the second round, the computer could not have been more wrong. In fact, Frazier hit Foster so hard that he injured his ankle while he was going down.
Ali wasn't awarded the "Sportsman of the Century" award for nothing. I don't think Marciano would beat Tyson, let alone Ali.
The Superfight is laughable. Watching how they edited Ali to throw punches was nothing like him in the ring. There was no technique at all.

I reckon Tyson.
Youngest boxerever to win the WBC, WBA and IBF world heavyweight titles, also the first boxerto hold all 3 titles too.
Early years in his peak he was fearsome, quick and powerful. In the 90's he was a mess, still had alot of power but the prowess wasnt there.
I reckon a Lennox Lewis vs Ali fight would be very close, Perhaps even David Tua.

Would've been more impressive if 2 of them weren't by decision, and the third by TKO. He also won them from mediocre boxers.
Interestingly, Tyson took the WBC title from Trevor Berbick who was the last man to fight (and beat) Ali, going 10 rounds and winning by decision.
two different era's two different fighters in a way. i think tyson was the better boxer, for his size and speed. some people don't know that he won an olympic gold medal as a junior where he won all of his fights by knock-out. this video always amazes me with his explosive speed.

They probably would never of made it to the ring.
Ali would have raped Tysons mind in the lead up with smack talk as only he could, causing Tysons cracker head to explode pre bout.

ali for sure
tyson was an animal but ali was so quick and so smart, he moved so well that tyson wouldn't get a clean hit and after a few rounds would be too tired to swing, then ali would knock him out
he was a big mouth but he really was the greatest
btw that article on a foreman tyson fight was very good, great read

you found THE footage - best glimpse of Ali's greatness IMO
fans of both - but boxing is the sweet science...Ali in his prime could not be hit because of superior ringcraft, timing and movement
