intercooler pipework needs tabs or rolls put on the end of them, i would personally like it to be rolled in those little bench mounted presses, but if welded tabs it is then ill have to do it, except my welding is hit an miss:lol:
My question is does anyone know who would own such a roller, i have 6 steel pipe ends that need rolling (not ali) , not asking for a discount just a shop name or contact, thanks

hey beef i dont know about rolling and stuff like that but can't u just get a thick weld put around the end of the pipes? I shall ask about the rolling thing when i speak to my mate during the next few days whos an apprentice at an engineering workshop if they do stuff like that. They do mainly boats so they deal with alot of piping and stuff and hes gona be helping me modify my fmic setup. Only problems its SOR.

yeh i could weld little lady lumps onto the end of em, but the seamless look of a rolled pipe gets me going haha.
Thanks if you can, now being a long weekend ive got no chance of ringing anyone till tuesday, plus me unit is off for tunes next week, so its a last minute thing finding out me pipe popped out even with a solid mounted engine and 7psi damn it.
It may be the gay proflow three piece billet clamps being too wide or some shit like that, meh, dunno all i know is i rushed the pipework when i made it the other week:o

Just spoke to my mate then, said he doesn't know how you could get that raised ribbing on the ends from a machine. His guess is welding a line around the pipe then machining it down nicely but he thinks its alot of work for not much. He said you can get hose barbs that can be welded onto the pipes or on the ends but depends on the size and type of piping.
He said something about using 2 tbar clamps on each ends with 1 the opposite way around or something like that :P, im just using wormdrives so im not too familiar with what he's talking about.. Sorry I couldnt be of more help beef

nah i understand exactly what hes on about, the seam roller is a manual unit, its quite a simple thing as it just clamps down on the end of your pipe and you hand roll it around and it leaves a nice raised seam on the end, same thing im sure that would be used on mass produced pipe kits,
Im sure a hotrod style workshop wold have it or one of those old school metal fabrication joints, i just don't know of any at all

might just be my experience - but running ally pipes (without any form of lip or weld) in conjunction with the big bolt up clamps and never had an issue with poppign pipes... havent run more then 18 psi though

yeh same with me, its got me stuffed why me pipe popped out, unless i had too many beers and didn't tighten that one up:lol:
Suppose i just don't want dramas when its tuning, as having pipes constantly pop out would be annoying to me and the tuner, got better things to worry about than pipes popping out

haha yeh that was my reference i was talking about, ive only got 6 joins all up but i would like to get the cold side fabbed into 1 piece to make it 4 joins, after its all settled down and running and cage work done, im just concentrating on minimum spec shit to get it licensed and racing for now
