so if i roll in with my built vehicle, loud exhaust, screamer and 400 at treads, bust some nuts smashing limiter on gate, bulk smoke then roll out, you think cops arent going to go, "hey man can you pop the bonnet for us?"

Its a good idea.
Myself and a mate thought about doing this, sticking a pad out wanneroo way and getting pingpingpingpings to cut sick. I just wanna go somewhere where we wont be hassled.

I doubt they will... Realistically this is a way for us to take it off the streets, no pressure burnouts and have some fun. If you're smart you pop your stockies then switch back to your other rims to drive out. Just chill after for an hour or so and you'll be sweet.
IMO better than hitting up the same T/S's all the time, won't be long til theres a massive yellow sticker raid on one of them, especially when people keep name dropping the stops on forums..

I think its a great idea, and about time something is done, even if its by someone that shouldn't have to do it in the first place.
My problem is that, imo, i think the police will abuse it and use it to their advantage. I feel this would be highly unfair, as your trying to do the right thing and get stung by it. This will just lead to people doing what they currently do when it comes to painting strips, renderring it useless.
Also, with availability, the report says it will only be able to be used when the landing strip located near by isn't in use. This is fine if the strip is barely used, meaning the pad will be available most of the time. But if thats not the case and the pad can only be accessed once or twice a week, then i doubt it is going to help the residents out, renderring it useless.

Could you have a disclaimer that people sign before they hit the pad? Ie any damage to yourself, your car etc is no responsibility of the property owner or the premises fault?
poonisher187
27-05-2009, 09:15 AM
I hope the po-po sticker pingpingpingpings with shit cars and just give the good cars props and let us be. Won't happen but :(. The bloke should get onto some second hand tyre places to sponsor the pad..? Win-win. Come out with a mobile service vehicle or something and swap over tyres for skids?
I don't think people are knocking the guy for putting it up. If he charges 50 bucks to enter then who cares, it's his property and he can do whatever he wants because in the end he built it (obvious lost of money to him). But by the looks of things we are all unhappy about the police wanting to make some keesh of it, because come on, open up your eyes. They are only attending for the same reason the whole hoon system was created: revenue.
Even when supervised, the smoke generated from burnouts did in fact start swine flu.

im not to phased about the police hanging around, who cares?

just to add kwinana is about the same distance away from ost if not closer... you can go and chuck a skid every wednesday night for $60?? how many people go to that? 3 cars in perth a week? maybe 5?
I know they only let 5, but good on him.. my uncle has a lot out in helena valley where we have had a small static pad for ages.. but something bigger where we can enjoy a mid cruise stop off would be great!!!
Yes maybe cops will be farks but if your car is safe and legit you shouldnt have an issue. Obviously if your going to a skid pan you bring spare tyres!

I get the feeling this type of environment would be far more relaxed than the 'plex, which is probably the reason most don't do skids there in the first place... Less pressure, more spur of the moment skids occur on the street and what not.

trying to help yes..well though out no.
theres many factors that need to be addressed before considering to make that work. its not as easy as yeh i wanna biuld a fukn huge burnout pad and all you pingpingpingpings can come and do as many skids as you want..yeeeeh fuk yeeeh.
Youve got policing fukn dero pingpingpingpings from the outta suburbs going punch on because they are one eyed holden/ford lovers.
Cops waiting down the road knowing people will try leave with bald tyres, illegal modifications etc etc, cops wait outside the plex becuase they know people will speed and do skids because they are all worked up from watching them which is illegal on the road, they dont just wait there giving yellows from my experience.
Lgal mumbo jumbo to sort out somone who may hurt themslves or others ie tyre blows, someone loses an eye
Fire fighters incase fuel line or watever blows off and torches the driver.

I think a lot of you guys are missing the point...
This is a positive step towards the communities viewpoint at us, if you don't like the chance of doing it safely in an open area then don't go. But what do you lose from having an OPTION to doing it on the street?
The guy's helping us out, give hime some credit, and if the Cops go down to watch us then fair enough, we can't have everything in life and expect no consequences.
Unless you are doing something to fix the current situation, then get off his back and stop bitching about it.

im not bitchin dont get me wrong im just been realistic..i doubt that changes the community"s viewpoint at us, i know many 45+ old skewl hoons who would do the same thing, doesnt mean the rest of the media effected public doesnt hate anyone with a modified car.

Amen, Go down to the plex, have a few run's, cbf doing anything stupid after, it's all out of the system.
I don't do HUGE burnouts, my wallet dosnt permit it, but if i could just go once in a while do a bit of a skid, I would be quite content.

Had something just like this in numerous places in Kal. Morons went there outside the times they were allowed to and eventually got shut down. Some fukwits will ruin it for everyone . .
i think you will find that it isnt aimed at the 'performance car' drivers, but at the typical young tosser suburban hoons that think that getting some smoke from one tyre is the best thing that they could do in their camry/falcodores
a few of you need to realise that everything does not revolve around the performance car scene
the hoon laws are there because there are a loarge amount of tossers in pieces of shit that hoon. unfortunately the performance drivers get caught in the net too, but you arent a big enough percentage compared to 'hoons' for them to worry about
this pad will be for those tossers :)

Just about every time a cruise heads up to the truck stop, the cops show up, but do we all get yellowed after they know a few people have done skids? Nah, they just tell us to rack off and go somewhere else as people are complaining.
The cop's know full-well that the general 'hoon' majority is craving for a suitable venue (other than the overpriced Motorplex) to go out and cut sick on, and this is perfect.
As Rhys just said, there used to be a very similar sort of venue out in Kal that worked great - until someone ruined it. Difference here thou, is that the pad being built in Bullsbrook is on private land where the owner can lock the pad up and secure it however he likes, where-as the pads in Kal were on crown/government land that wasn't really 'owned' by anyone.

Pipe Dreams.
Great idea... but this bloke should seek legal advice.
MASSIVE exposure for public liability. Third parties could have a field day applying for damages like personal injury...
Good luck getting cover aswell, Commercial liability providers wouldnt be interested in the risk... if they were, premium & deductable would outweigh any financial means this guy could muster.
Domestic providers quite simply wont want to hear about it.
Great idea... but its a pipe dream in its current form, cvnt will have to charge BIG $$ for it to be used publicly... so i doubt it'll be a toll booth free for all arrangment.

There will definetly be some cop attention there. But i think cops will also have to approach this from a public relations point if view.
1.Joe Public builds burnout pad to get hoons of the streets
2. Police come to supervise
3. Powertrip cops who were fat and smelled in highschool start busting ppl for mods etc
4. People no longer go there
5. Burnouts on streets again
6. Angry Locals at cops/council for scaring hoons away.
This bloke clearly has some contacts in the shire as RAAF isnt just gonna agree to let random local have heaps of ppl on his property dropping skids right next to the base. Plus i'm sure there is other ppl in the community he has had to approach including getting the police to agree to come to a private business to supervise during work hours. Its not like i can go down local cop shop and say "hey i'm having a party with heaps of ppl i dont know, charging them entry can i have a couple officers down my place to keep an eye on things?"

so if i roll in with my built vehicle, loud exhaust, screamer and 400 at treads, bust some nuts smashing limiter on gate, bulk smoke then roll out, you think cops arent going to go, "hey man can you pop the bonnet for us?"
Dunno, is your screamer pipe legal? Will you be driving back on to the public road with bald tyres? One would suggest you would be better trailering your car to and from there; you'll find the Police will probably show you respect for doing it in a sensible manner.
I think it's a good idea having the burnout pad. Now all we need is for a 400m strip of bitumen to be laid and we can have a drag strip there as well.

It's a good idea in theory but there will be a lot of bullshit red tape if it ever goes ahead.

Brilliant concept, but you cant beat the sensation of busting nuts at a traffic light intersection. Im sure the public road will also be more mechanically sympathetic to my driveline.

Maybe the old bloke is being a bit smart and is going to use it as a business booster. If he has a workshop close by All those single pegger commonwhores and foulcoon's that go up there to make their next youtube flik and bust diffs gearboxes and engines, he will be waiting on the sidelines and will be able to give quotes on the spot and cheap towing.

For tyres ! what a champ !
yeah but on a serious note Skitzo i believe has a good point get there with 400 at the treds, rips some nuts and drive off and the cops are going to leave us alone, THAT i would like to see.

I asked one of the City of Swan members about the burnout pad and how it was progressing. The guy is just having difficulties getting it approved as neighbouring nazi neighbours in the middle of woop woop complaining it will ruin their peace and quiet. FFS, it's one day a month and not going to be any worse than the RAAF jets that fly over all the time!!

Also the guy does not own the land where he wants the pad to go lol
The owner lives in Albany

I never thought I would see the day something involving some kind of a thought process like this would be done. What a champion.
Pearce operates as a controlled aerodrome throughout the working week. Going off the article I'm 99% sure the pad will only be available when Pearce switches to a Common Traffic Advisory Frequency R (uncontrolled) aerodrome, aka weekends only :(
