Hi Guys, been on here for while and figured it’s about time I put up one of these threads.

Just a quick rundown of previous cars...

First car: 1992 S13 Silvia NA POWER, Nismo sticker was worth a few HP

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v307/flamo_damo/piccy1.jpg

Kept it like that for a while, part time work a woolies didn't leave much kesh to play with.
Then it got smashed in by some of my dusty cousins...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v307/flamo_damo/piccy3.jpg

Car was pretty beaten with kicked in doors, dents on roof from rocks so I took this opportunity and got the car resprayed in Techo Grey. This only ended up costing me 400 so yeah that was pretty good, don't have any pics of it though :(

So got phone call from a mate who managed to score me some S13.5 conversion fenders for next to fuck all at the Works Auto auction??
So I bit the bullet and decided to go ahead with the Strawberry face conversion and started collecting the bits I needed and putting it all together.
With the help of a mate we managed to dummy it all together and get it looking semi finished.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v307/flamo_damo/IMG_0130.jpg

Left it at that for while because the car wasn't starting and I started to get pissed of at it. Turns out the fuel pump had a split in the ground somewhere and wasn't earthing correctly. Fixed that and she was all sweet, so I bought some coilovers, genuine Nissan S15 headlight brackets and start mounting everything up correctly.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v307/flamo_damo/IMG_0410.jpg

At this point I managed to lose my licence and sent the car off to be painted.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v307/flamo_damo/100_0092.jpg

Excuse the ride height as I had plans to sell the car after it was painted and I sold the coilovers. Soon after this my brother decided he would buy the car off me so that was pretty cool. Pretty much first thing he did was smash collies in...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v307/flamo_damo/Image195_1_.jpg

He then started collecting parts for DE+T but then managed crash it...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v307/flamo_damo/Image231.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v307/flamo_damo/16102008170.jpg

Well enough of that, sometime between paint and my brother owning the car I bought my 32.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v307/flamo_damo/IMG_1102.jpg

Mods when I bought it...

Engine Swap - RB25DET
Metallic Black
5 Speed Manual - R33 GTST Gearbox
Full Vertex Body Kit
Brass Button Clutch
75mm Front Mount Intercooler
TEIN Spec Adjustable Coil Overs
17" Works Meister S2R Rims
Slotted Brake Rotors (front and back)
Upgrade pads
Apexi Power FC (Tuned by XSpeed)
Apexi Boost Gauge
Spec R Electronic Boost Controller
GTR Fuel Pump
Mechanical LSD
3" Cat back Exhaust
HKS SSQ BOV
K&N Air Filter
GTR Skyline Seats
Veilside Gear knob
GT Wing

260rwhp at 0.8bar

Got this on a Friday, Saturday morning put screamer pipe on and pissed people off. Sunday afternoon smashed Vertex front bar, that week picked up N1 GTR bar for cheap cheap. Hit up with spray can and smashed it on.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v307/flamo_damo/IMG_1139.jpg

At this point I just managed to drive the car and have fun, took it down to Collie with DriftWA for the weekend and had the best time of my life. From here things started to go downhill, first I killed the clutch, then the turbo, clutch pedal assembly broke, split a fuel line and to top it all off got a yellow.
So after I got the yellow off a bit more cash started to come around and I got bitten by the mod bug and bought the following...

52mm Alloy Rad
Blitz BOV
S/Steal Intake Pipe
De-Cat

Wound the coilovers down a bit and I was happy...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v307/flamo_damo/tmpphpIKZEfr.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v307/flamo_damo/100_0110.jpg

Then I decided to spend more money and bought the following...

2 x 12" Davies Craig Thermos with temp control switch
HKS Style front pipe
HKS Style split dump pipe
Sabre Oil Pressure, Oil Temp and AFR gauges
Trust Remote Oil Filter Kit
HICAS lock bar
Alloy steering rack spacer
Alloy bash plate
6pt Roll Cage
Fibreglass vented bonnet

While I was installing the above I thought it was a good chance to give the engine bay a cleanup. I removed the aircon and lines, also sold my rims with the intention of buying some CST Hyper Zero's

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v307/flamo_damo/23112008193.jpg

Those photos were taken in about December last year and well car hasn't changed much since then. Had big plans for the car and decided I would need a daily so bought myself a HJ61 Land cruiser. Skyline sort of got neglected for a while as I was busy trying to sort shit out with my house and having to pay that off didn't leave much cash. So after not driving it for about a week and a bit I decided it was about time I take it for a drive. So as I reversed out the driveway I noticed a big green puddle of coolant where the car was parked. Thought to myself I had it with this fucked shit and just left the car for a while.
Eventually got around to looking at it and turns out the water pump seal was gone. At this point in the love hate relationship I hated the car and was planning on selling it after I fixed the water pump. This is when I had a great idea of buying a S13 Silvia rolling shell.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v307/flamo_damo/09012009219.jpg

This idea got pretty old very quick and I sold it on. After looking at the prices 32's were going for I didn't really want to sell it so I decided to keep it and spend a bit more time and money on it getting everything right.

So I picked up the following bits...

Garrett GT3540 Turbo 0.86 rear housing
Braided Oil & Coolant lines
6Boost Steampipe manifold
45mm Turbosmart Pro Gate
750cc Denso Injectors
Greddy Style Plenum (Yes its china but its being modified)
80mm Throttlebody

Buying all those parts were basically all the inspiration I needed to get this rolling.
So now I have moved it back to my parents house and this is how its sits atm...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v307/flamo_damo/16052009331.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v307/flamo_damo/16052009332.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v307/flamo_damo/16052009334.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v307/flamo_damo/16052009335.jpg

Now the plans are to basically strip the car and neaten everything up. Will be starting by pulling the engine out and getting rid of all the old HICAS lines, any unused wiring, hide the wiring that is in use, spray the engine bay and make it all neat. I also plan on getting the car completely resprayed blue with a black roof (unsure what blue to get have a few in mind though), want to strip out rear half of car and get rid of sound deadening and whatnot then rego car as 2 seater.

Planned mods...

DMAX vented bonnet
Vertex Front bar
Bigger Fuel pump (040/044)
Sard FPR
Splitfire coilpacks
DEFI gauges with control unit
18" Work Meister's or XD9's (still undecided)

Edit: Should add that I sold the cruiser a while ago and picked up a new daily, MX73 pimping haha...

Haha cheers dude, yeah was a bit of jump going from a car that had 60hp to 260hp. Taking it to Collie was the best thing I did learn't so much in the car with what I could and couldn't do. Now I can't wait to get the turbs on for a lazy 400 :werd: haha

Edited first post, added in my daily!!! MX73 :3some:

Nice project, should go hard with the 35r, although if you were chasing 400rwhp I'd sell it and go for a gt3076r with a .82 rear. Will give you the power you want but more response and you should come out of the swap pretty much even cash wise.

Goodluck with it

Hmm went to 35R because it's such a proven performer on so many other 25's, plus 400 is just a start I mean for stock internals I don't wanna push it that much more.

Too true, if you were going to build it down the track, then you would probably spin the rb25 to 8kish rpm.

Practice those gear changes when the 35r comes onto boost its going straight to the limiter haha :D

Well been a while since an update, have made a tiny bit of progress but really need to get my arse into gear and finish it I think.

Anyway I have managed to get the engine back in with 6 Boost manifold and inlet plenum bolted up. I have also started to change the timing belt and water pump, not much progress here yet ran into a hill with getting the crank pulley off. Cam covers have also been removed ready to be painted up Fluro Pink  just trying to sand off the layers of paint before it. Battery relocation cable has been ran from engine bay to boot ready to be hooked up, still a bit iffy about the location of the cable though. Anyway heres some pics of the engine bay...

Got back from my holiday Monday morning to find a nice suprise in my room....

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v307/flamo_damo/IMG_3560.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v307/flamo_damo/IMG_3563.jpg

Yeah baby 4 x SSR Professor SP1's 17x9 +16
The other 2 with tyres are the ones I already had, 17x10 +19

I will be running a pair of the 17 x 9's on the front and then 17x10's on the rear. Need to sort of some tyres though, need 215/40/17 and 235/40/17 so if somebody has good hookups that will be sweet.

And to continure the update I had also aquired the following parts...

Bride Vios III Low Max with rail
Sard FPR
Z32 AFM with plug
and a Vertex front bar

Basically what I want to do now is get the timing belt and water pump changed, cam covers painted and turbo and lines bolted up. From their I will start bolting everything up ready for custom piping to be made up. One thing I am not looking forward to is relocating the fuse box and stripping down the loom but I think it will make a huge difference in the engine bay without having it.

Until next time,
Damon

offset will be massive!
Guessing the rear guards are getting some flaring/pumping?

flamo_damo
28-10-2009, 05:59 PM
Cheers guys, yeah rear gaurds will get a bit of a massage and fronts should be okay with a bit of neg camber. I will be running 215/40/17 up front on the 9's and 235/40 on the rear with the 10's. Should sit fucking tough once done, coilovers at lowest setting so will see how that sits and if its not low enough out come helper springs!!!

Well been pretty slack with updating this but things have been happening slowly lol

Not sure where to start as so many things have changed since the last update, so I will start with the interior. Rear half of the car has been stripped out with the sound deadening removed and painted gloss black. Cage has been fitted back up and carpets back in, GTR passenger seat fitted and Bride Vios III fitted with the modifed rail as it was orginally made for a S1X series. Interior is pretty much finished just need a new stereo surround and its good to go.
Got some tyres fitted up to the SSR's, for the front I got 215/40 Federal 595's and for the rear I got 235/40 Federal 595's. The rims fit perfectly up front however need to roll the rear gaurds for the back rims.
Got everything bolted up in the engine bay good to go, had my mate make up my intercooler piping, front/dump pipe and intake pipe.
Z32 AFM relocated to the intercooler piping and wired in, long story short got it ready to start and found a nice oil leak behind the oil filter adapter to the block. Got the plenum off atm moment while I wait for a new gasket and some coolant hoses from Nissan. Enough chitter chatter here are some pictures...

AFM inline with cooler pipe? Havent seen this done before? I was of the beliefe these needed to run before the turbo, to measure air coming in?

before/after Cooler would affect density of air? wasnt aware these liked pressure?

Ive only every had MAFLESS tunes, so excuse the ignorance?

Lonewolf
22-06-2010, 09:38 AM
lots of people run it there, especially with power-fc's to avoid issues with the idle.
MAF = mass air flow, not density, so they have no issue reading under pressure

flamo_damo
22-06-2010, 09:42 AM
Yeah alot of people run it in the piping, my main reasoning was so I could retain a 4" intake lol

I know of a few people who have it in the cooler piping and have had no issues just as long as its on the intake side.

I gurantee if you reverted it back in front of inlet tune would be out.

However I now understand why it would work in this location.

Thankyou for making my day a better one.
