pretty much no work visas getting approved nowadays... I work for a mining company in HR and tried to get a dual trade tradesman onto my books. Hes already in Australia has been for over a year and works for another mining company.. they wouldnt even entertain that.. let aone bringing more people in.. and they pretty much said when it runs out after 2 years.. (working Visa) and he tries to renew it for permanent residency. They wont.

To be classed as a refugee isn't exactly easy either, there are many stipulations. Out of all that apply there seem to be only 3000-6000ish that get accepted each year, which is really farkall.
