Saw him fight when i went to the US earlier this year. He's a HUGE boy.. with a rediculous amount of speed/power.

Remember the fight well.. first round.. he took 2 big hits..

Waited for the guy to get a bit of confidence, guy got cocky and came in, he flattens him in one hit. 47 seconds into fight.

Guy is a total machine!

fedor has been around for quite sometime, very talented fighter even his brother was a great fighter, pretty sure they even had a bout.
this doco on him aint too old either, worth watching

Sounds weird, but martial arts seems to "slow" people down, probally somewhat due to the fact that you think more rather then just go wild.

Guy just seems to brawl but with the effectiveness of hitting correctly.

Regardless what it is, hes fucking scary

he trains and fights mixed martial arts, which is mainly a combination of wrestling, ju jitzu and muay thai. this isnt karate or kung fu although some people that compete in mma have those backrounds

Yeh when I said martial arts I meant any sort of "formalized" fighting style regardless of creed or nature (ringsport or self defence)

But yeh even MMA fighters appear to try and process the fight through their heads when they are in the ring, when I did kickboxing it was the same, when I sparred I found myself often trying to access the situation and determine what I do next.

I cant word it very well, but yeh I tend to feel hes just got the aggression of a brawler, or someone whose flipped out, but combined with the techniques hes acquired from MMA

Just my observation anyway.

I've been following mma and combat sports for a while and i must say I've never seen someone who fights with such aggression and still manages to keep their awarness about them of wear they are in the ring and what their opponent is doing.

I just stumbled onto this video and thaught it was a great representation of the man.

In his weight... #1 as stated previously.

The surety with which he throws and lands those punches... quite frankly just eats away at cvnts. No one punches like Fedor... and when you see him leaning in on every fucking punch he throws and transfer all 105kgs of his frame into some other cvnts face... no wonder he's nothing short of feared in the ring.

All i really want... weight Div's aside... is Fedor Vs Silva. Two rawest cvnts in the game imo.

Was that against Andre Arlovski? That was a pretty good fight. Arlovski isn't exactly an amateur either, and Fedor probably got a lucky punch in when he knocked him out.

First of all, Fedor is Russian. That should explain the crazy. His background is Sambo, which would be like Russia's version of jujutsu. It's quite scary just how calm and docile he seems until he starts to let loose. Then he just goes about it like he's half asleep. Scary.

What was the atmosphere like in the arena? I was getting all excited just sitting on my chair watching it at home!

The latest story is that Fedor is to be Fighting Josh Barnett in August. This will be his toughest test to date I think, Barnett has all the tools to beat Fedor but we have all said that before haven't we ;)

Was a flying knee if I remember correctly. I had to keep replaying it to believe what had happened. Fucking freaky shit.

I don't think Barnett has what it takes to get over Fedor. In fact I don't really think anyone I can think of does at the moment. If Brock Lesnar had much better standup, that would be an interesting fight. I did think Arlovski might have had a better chance but all it takes is one good punch at the right time and it's all over.

No disputing Fedor is a machine, the training, the calmness, the raw speed and power, the technical skills. I love the comment in that doco:

Half the people come to the fight to see him lose.
The other half of the people come to say "I told you he couldn't be beat!"

Honestly can't wait for UFC 100 (!!!) Lesnar V Mir II on July 11 for the unification and- undisputed heavyweight MMA title. Frank Mir absolutely destroyed Minotauro Nogeuira, and we all know Lesnar looks like he could snap someone just by looking at them and comprehensively beat Randy Couture.

4 fighters from TUF S08 are in UFC 98: George Roop, Krzysztof Soszynski, Phillipe Nover and Dave Kaplan make an appearance on the under card so spewin that won't be televised but at least Rashad Evans vs Lyoto Machida should be a wicked fight. On a side note for anyone who gets into as much as I do, The Ultimate Fighter Season 9: Team UK vs Team USA has started. Torrents available up to episode 5 so far :)

I wasn't really impressed with Lesnar's effort against Randy. Yes he won, but I don't think he's as good as he would have been had he started in MMA instead of fucking about in the WWE and Japanese pro wrestling.

The lesnar couture fight was very close, couture was unlucky to cop that big punch. Lesnar finished poorly imo with the hammer fists.

Both fighters hit some big shots early on though, i thaught it was over a few times.
