Thanks, I've got two helmets but supposedly the regulations at the Plex are strict now.

Nevermind, not racing tonight anyways.

They those ET streets twin groove(really a slick) or actual radials ?

Tocchi
22-04-2009, 06:59 PM
he's running my FR19s on the front, so its a street radial. mixing full slicks with normal cross ply tyres = bad, ive been told.

just 17" MT streets. on a 17x8" rim

rules last season was your allowed to run to 10.80 before the boot. thats how i managed 4 10 sec passes anyway, soon as it went 10.78 i got the salute.

he should of waited for holden V ford, track be 3 foot shorter and prepped.

See thats pretty gay. On Sunday they kicked about 6 cars out for running mid 11's and told them not to come back at all.

Stinks of some serious bias ....

Yeah at Hi Tech on Sunday, there was a mint Candy Red 1st Gen RX7.
The guy had been getting that car ready for god knows how long, drove up from Bunbury only to be told to park up after his second run because he was cracking low 11's.

Daisy
23-04-2009, 09:23 AM
now that sucks (unless he didnt have harness and andra licence), the guy told 03xr6t last week your running consistant low 11 so we can boot you. response was i can run 11.000 all day, you cant unless i`m in the 10's
o you no the rules, then a completely different attitude.

does seem to be rules for some and not for others.

Well, it's not really as simple as that. You may be running 11's, but huge MPH (for example backing off at 1000ft). They have the right to turn you down as the car is obviously quicker. Not sure of this specific inctance.

Basically the rules are clear, and there for a reason. If you follow the rules, then you'll be fine. If you don't follow the rules then why expect special treatment? It's the andra insurance on the line, why should they risk it.

Ford vs Holden - track is 3ft shorter, are you sur of that???

yes 3ft shorter, WAW they set the beams up on the first slot. decent race nights there set up in the second slot, ie 3foot forward. the reason you will 60' good on a fast friday or decent event then you will on a WAW.

But there is two beams? I.e - 1 beam for pre stage, and then a second beam for full stage. You mean they move both beams?

zeroyon
23-04-2009, 09:58 AM
They use the 660 as a marker, quicker then 7.00 is the same as quicker then 11.00. The cars they kicked out on sunday were above the 7.00 bracket and not running big MPH(> 130).

The only reason I can think of is it was actually competition on sunday and not a lazy just run session like WAW.

Also 11.00 to 10.99 is a lot more then a roll cage.

Kye
23-04-2009, 10:00 AM
Ive heard this as well.

Something about they dont wont the start line getting hammered every week, so they move it back. Then on proper events like Fast Friday and full drag events with door slammers etc it gets moved forward.

Could be completely wrong though??

Dean, i have a solution for you.
im getting a Niapro cage for the FG. bolt in bolt out.
they tell me the components are sourced locally. and the cage is white

Good work dean! Getting a few F6's into the 10's now :)

Cheers mate :)
Monsta Torque will have another in the 10's soon with Adrian's ute smashing out a 11.22 on pump fuel last night with ease. Bothe these cars are full weight, full tank of juice, unopened, stock turbo etc etc...

They those ET streets twin groove(really a slick) or actual radials ?

Definitely a drag radial, not a cross-ply full slick mate.

I'd bet my balls on that.

Mmmm, not wrong. So many small bits and pieces to do. But would probably want it that way, considering when your entering the lower 10's in a streeter setup, it's some pretty serious speed if things go wrong.

guys, what are those things you need?
(not that ill ever need to consider it, due to FG being stock, and EF being well the EF, and the crapri already having all that stuff)

I've got the list sitting at home. Obvious shit is things like tailshaft loops, full harnesses, full cage.

In our case, we needed things like full scatter shield for the transmission, then scatter shields for all fuel lines/piping that runs past the tranny/bellhousing. Brackets to hold on oil breathers, restaraints if your running a supercharger, remote fuel/elec isolator. Then theres things like chutes if your running big MPH.

Theres alot more stuff then that, but it's the little things that add up. And generally it isn't the same for everyone. When you have an andra tech inspection, they pick up on other little brackets and shit you need.

6 point roll cage. SFI Spec padding on cage.
5 point harness(> 130mph)
Fire resistant underwear

Higher spec helmet
Arm restraints
Medical
UDL lic
Log book for car
